The Cheating Matthew Scarlett Thread
Your opinions?
Does this guy cheat very well or what? He rapes Gehrig with his cheating tactics. Stealth arm chopping and jumper tugging are his supreme talents.

That's why carlton have 16 premierships.rodgerfox wrote:So it's only cheating if you get caught??Lennon wrote:Scarlett is all right.
Like someone already said, it's down to the umpires to stop that sort of thing.
*Allegedly.

I'll make a prediction. Riewolt will get his arms chopped every contest and will receive 3 free kicks (one in the first, third and early in the last).
However, it's not much of a crystal ball effort, happens every week. Defenders know the umps are not going to pay Roo a dozen frees so they'll continue with the tactic and be happy to cop a couple of penalties.
All defenders do that stuff. It's up to the umpires top sort it out. And for Gehrig to get on his bike and bloody move! When he's done well on Scarlett he's been a leading forward, not a goal-square wrestling forward. See R1 2004 for example.
Gehrig has done well against all defenders when he leads.
Some defenders challenge him to a wrestling match and Gehrig not being to bright accepts the challenge. Whilst he is still wrestling the opposition clears the ball away.
Gehrig is useless when he wants to wrestle, he is great when he leads.

I'm not a whinger but...
its a wonder we have the reputation of being the biggest whingers in the AFL (after collignwood of course) with all the topics and posts popping up here and on bigfooty.
If its not one thing its another. Ever thought that MAYBE what the opposition are doing is fair and we are just not good enough?

Gehrig just has to trot off to the pocket tomorrow and hope Scarlett goes with him.
A 0-0 result would be great for us; I'm backing Riewoldt and Koschitzke to win their respective positions and that's all we need.
Let's face it, it worked a treat last week when our midfield got the ball down to them.
...BUT the supply has to be there. And the best thing Gehrig did during that first term? Wander off, taking Lake with him. It freed up the lines, and we dominated against the weaker defenders.
Such a shame our midfield collapsed.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Gehrig is best suited to acting as a decoy forward tomorrow. His main role should be to try and take Scarlett out of the game whose rebound from defense can be damaging.
Trust the Midas Touch

That's Bull as the umpires are so imcompetent that they allow it.rodgerfox wrote:So it's only cheating if you get caught??Lennon wrote:Scarlett is all right.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

girlong seem to be allowed to push players in the back........on both the forward line as well as in defence.....but you can't touch them....
.everybody still loves lenny....and we always will
