Dream Team jumper design revealed

Post: # 537518Post st_nick »

From 150years.com.au:

THE AFL has received the guernsey designs that will be worn by the Dream Team and Victoria in this year's Hall of Fame Tribute match, to be played at the MCG on Saturday, May 10.

The Dream Team Guernsey carries the names of the 1246 community and grass roots clubs that play country, regional and metropolitan football in the states and territories that comprise the Dream Team – Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, the Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales and the ACT.

Looks like a plain white jumper to me...?

This was bound to happen.

Plain white shows exactly the amount of interest the non-Vic states have in being a composite side. In other words: slim to bupkiss.

At least there wasn't some Pro Hart looking mess like 90% of the clash/away strips in the AFL. Plain white is at least better trhan that (but most things are).

Sorry to repost so soon:

Will they make the guernseys available for sale?

I'd definately buy the Big V. I still have my EJ Whitten Legends match one.

Yeah if they are i probably wont buy one.

Love it and all but it will probably be highly overpriced.

Wouldn't expect it to be any more than the usual AFL guernsey, maybe $100 or so.

Rebel at Knox for ages had 3 or 4 Indigenous team jumpers for about $60 - all mediums.

I think they are available for general public purchase.

My reason for this is when andrew mcloed put the jumper on on the news it still had the merchandising tag on it.

Plus the afl would see this as a massive money raiser.

if you check the video of the press conferance you get a closer look at the jumper- http://video2.foxsports.com.au/video.ph ... 52&id=6763

like the Olympic outfit a couple of eyars ago the names are written very small and create almost just a stripe. It has EVERY football team in Australia.

I wouldn't mind one as a souvenir of the game.

when i first saw it i though it was a kids comp to colour in the jumper with the best design picked for the game .... very poor effort i was expecting some marketing guru to combine the teal of port with the green and purple of freo , the kack orange colour from the former eagles jumper and to please collingwood move far away from the stripe motif and use the polka dot design
