Lucas out for 10 weeks

Post: # 536535Post saintsrus »

Just reported on MMM, always gives us trouble, we have Bombers round 5.

From Afl.com.au

Lucas out for 10 weeks

ESSENDON could be without spearhead Scott Lucas for possibly half the season, after the talented forward was diagnosed with a torn posterior cruciate ligament following the Bombers' 55-point win over North Melbourne.

Lucas, 30, twinged his left knee 20 minutes into Monday's game and limped from the field after crashing into a marking contest.

The injury has been assessed as a grade three tear, which has an expected rehabilitation period of eight to 10 weeks with an additional two to regain match fitness.

"Scott will be out, we're looking at nine to 12 weeks," coach Matthew Knights said after the match.

While you don't wish injury upon anyone. This will help us against the bombers in a few weeks.

Lucky to Lucas it wasn't an ACL.

First rate player and decent human being: one of the last I would like to see it happen to.

If we need to wish for the star players to be missing from other teams in the home and away season, then our dreams of beating Geelong in a GF are pretty far-fetched.

I don't dream of beating Geelong in the GF. I'm hoping they don't even make it.
