Are we or any Melbourne based AFL team allowed to train at TD or MCG ever?
It seems that we have home grounds for games that we are not allowed to train on. Yet when there is a soccer or Rugby match the teams are allowed to train at these venues. Surely the MCG or TD in our case could allow the teams hosting the weekends games an hour and a half of training on the ground, in most weeks this is only 3 hours of usage and on the extra ordinary case 4.5 hours for the week. Would allowing teams to train on the ground when they have a home game there seriously damage the surface? With TD teams currently train outside in the elements and then when match day comes around find the only zephyr of breeze to contend with is the air conditioning. At the MCG it is such a large stadium that the wind conditions can not be replicated at any other venue in Victoria. This dilemma give the non Melbourne based team another advantage when it comes to home games as they get to train and play on the same grounds.
Training.
