So who should be our next Captain ?
Prior to tonight you would have thought Riewoldt was favourite to take the captaincy for 2008.
But did Kosi or Lenny swing the odds their way tonight ?
KOSI ?
was acting Capt tonight
The win gives him 5 out of 5 as Captain
Is he our goodluck charm
As per the Aussie cricketers, if you are winning don't change a thing.
HAYES ?
was magnificent tonight
his in and under work round the packs was inspirational
looks like he is back to his best form from 3 years ago
he is inspirational
and as an onballer is always in the play
ROO ?
not super dominant tonight
but still played well for us
Or should we have 3 captains ?

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

Re: So who should be our next Captain ?
Kosi isnt even in the thinking IMO. I think both should Captain as in Lenny and Rooy but making Kosi captain tonight suggests just one to me and that probably means roo.Enrico_Misso wrote:Prior to tonight you would have thought Riewoldt was favourite to take the captaincy for 2008.

5 prelims in 7 years. 40 wins from 49 games.
2009 and 2010 were 2 of the 5 best years ever by the St.Kilda FC.
Thanks for all your efforts Saints.

leadership often has nothing to do with likeable. from my reading of it the players would prefer lenny and the administration would prefer riewoldt.devil saint wrote:Lenny Hayes is the most important player on our team. He is in top form even after two games - most courageous and best leader. Also more likeable than Roo IMO.
i'm tipping riewoldt captain and lenny deputy but it wouldn't surprise me if they stay with the two

I would love Lenny to be the catain..matrixcutter wrote:Hayes should be captain....and there should be only one.
However the footage in the rooms makes me think that roo has the job.
If not then he is really pushing to be the captain...and that is a good thing.

Here's what the Coach said:
From the Hun:
"The captain only flips the coin," Lyon said. "Clearly it's an important decision and as it sits there's two (Nick Riewoldt and Lenny Hayes), and I'm really comfortable with that. We'll go away and assess it and at the appropriate time we'll inform you whether it's two or one."

I pretty sure i heard Nathan "Board Member" Burke mention on KB's show this week that we will still have the 2 remaining captains from last year. So i would be guessing he might have a clue as to where we are headed.

RL is not being truthful about the captain only flipping the coin.
The captain is also a major marketing element within the club.
When Cousins was first caught being a dope, West Coast took away the captaincy because he could no longer be used for marketing.
Hayes will make the best on field team leader by setting the right example on the field, but Riewoldt will be much better from a marketing aspect.
Lyon should choose Hayes but I believe the adminstration would much prefer Riewoldt. I think Riewoldt will get it.
