Good news for the Scorps. If they manage to sign a couple of decent mids or key forwards they might have some hope in '08.

Good News for the Scorps.

You never know if he has a great year he maybe a chance to get Re-Rookied by the Saints.

I don't see the point. He simply doesn't have the body for AFL footy. He's been tried at two clubs because of a few good aspects, but both times his glaring weaknesses have seen him discarded after just one year.

He probably will have a great year/career with the Scorps, but I would be very surprised if a team gives him another shot.

I reckon if you get removed from the rookie list there's a fair chance you won't get re-rookied, no matter how impressive your next spell is.

His only real weakness is his body size, and there are plenty of people who fill out around the age of 22/23, so if he is playing good footy in the VFL at that age, he could still make it.

Maxie didn't get drafted until he was a bit older, and look at what a terrific player he has become.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

He has the same type of body as Justin Westoff.

What do you mean he doesn't have the body for AFL Football.

Westhoff is an extremely smart key forward with great footy instincts who can peel off his opponent and snare opportunistic goals. When he is matched up against smaller defenders he simply has to get in front position and his height as well as the HITB rule makes it impossible for a defender to stop him.

Wall is a defender who does not possess these great instincts and he isn't particularly athletic for someone with so little strength. But he is very tall, ok in the air and is hard working. He's had two years on what I imagine would be a very intense weights program and doesn't look any bigger than when he was drafted. If he couldn't put on any weight in the past two years then I don't see how it would change in the next two years. He is good enough to have a good career at state level, but he just isn't quite good enough to take it up to the top level. Being pretty good in the air and having decent skills isn't enough to get you an AFL game.

I think Max had just turned 19 when drafted. Played junior footy out Greensborough way. Played bottom age with Northern Knights then went to Queensland with family. Played 2 years in QAFL before being drafted.

Max was also a whipping boy for many saints fans in the early years as he took a little while to develop !!
