I'm happy with that, I would rather a highly rated ruckman over a highly rated back flanker....

Must have killed the writers to only have ONE south australian in the first round... because everyone knows they have the best two teams in the AFL, and the best state competition in the country...

cotchin at 6???
do these guys know something the rest of the world doesn't?
every other phantom draft I've read had cotchin ahead of palmer, there was also a mention of him in the age(?) about a slim possiblity of him going no 1....

i think these guys have written about what player suits which team best, rather than straight list of best players?

No way Cotchin will fall to #6... surely not?

If he hasnt been picked up by #3 it would be possibly the strangest thing ive seen in a draft... and id start to get excited by the possiblity that he might still be there at #9!

No way he will fall to pick 6 !!

IMO he is the best Midfielder in the draft and Richmond will be selecting him with pick 2. David Gourdis will also not go that early at pick 5.

Quote from Kevin Sheahan on SEN 10 minutes ago:

"When we saw Cotchin coming through especially last year, he was the best midfield talent we have seen since Chris Judd".

Credibility of SA Sunday Mail Draft = ZERO.

But thanks for posting it sax ... interesting reading nonetheless.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Cotchin I think deserves to be No 1....if WC gets him at 3.......they will be very very happy.....

If I were Carton I would go Cotchin over Kruezer despite their lack of rucks and use pick 36 for the best ruckman left and take Richards in the PSd if the Tiges don't want him).....but they will probably go for K.

Did the Tigers do a deal with WC for them to pass over Cotchin if available...draft day may supply the answer....

If the Blues took Cotchin then their midfield unit would be humming in 2009 on....

most westcoast officals rate Masten higher then palmer from what i hear palmer is almost a dead cert to be going to the dees

Whomever is left at 9....I am confident there will be a good pick left as the top dozenish players look pretty good.
