more SEN news- beva's case went to AIRC claiming unfair dismissal - company claimed it was bigger than 100 employees- the Commissioner hearing the case was familiar with many of the names as he listened to the station. - case listed for Dec 5 and 6

EDIT - should have read 100 employees.

Below is from the AIRC website about making a claim for unfair (c.f. unlawful) dismissal.
I would have thought that SEN talent would be hired under a specific contract. Unfair dismissal only applies in companies with > 100.

an employee may not lodge an unfair dismissal claim with the AIRC if he or she was:
• employed by an employer with 100 or fewer employees;
• serving a six-month qualifying period of employment;
• dismissed for genuine operational reasons, which include economic, technological, structural or similar reasons relating to the employer’s business;
• serving a probationary period determined in advance;
• engaged on a seasonal basis;
• engaged under a contract of employment for a specified period or task
engaged under a traineeship agreement or approved traineeship for a specified period;
• engaged as a casual employee for a short period;
• not employed under an award or workplace agreement and earning $101,300 a year or above in remuneration; or
• pursuing other related termination proceedings.

SEN overnight update
Courtesy of the heckler- back page of the age news section. Pg 22 Dec 2nd 2007

"Boys on the Ball to stay on the air"
Basicly Brett Phillips and Mark Franklin are utilising the airtime and being paid by selling advertising, they haven't paid for the six hours but they use/own the six hours.

things are looking 'positive' according to Phillips-

goes on to query payment for 'bigger' names

Good work boys- No wonder your pulling 18 hour shifts..
keep at it.
