The guy is amazing - the upcoming preseason will probably be the toughest he's ever done, and I'm sure he knows it. If he does decide to go on it'll prove just what a gritty, determined champion he really is.
Onya Harvs.
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts.
I think the way Harvs should do it is to say, I am going on in 2008, but thats it. That way we will have all year to get used to the idea. We will know its the end and we can say "goodbye" to him. He is a freak, but we should not be relying on a 37 year old to be one of our best players.
If we are... we are in trouble.
But its great news if true. Will fully believe when Harves talks about it.
Great news. My respect for the man and the humble way he goes about his business is huge. The ultimate team man, no fuss, what an out and out champion.
By the way, can any one tell me if Harves has ever been reported? I suspect not, I can't remember any incidents. To play for that long and never grace the tribunal is another testament to his character.
Harvey wouldn't give a rats arse about celebrating his career with a parade, far too humble - so I won't read anything into it until he makes an official statement!

Was reported/fined in the 'Footscray melee' and challenged it because he was affronted that his reputation was tarnished by being reported.
