Personal dilemma - Parasites or Scum ?
I am going to the Coll v Syd and Geel v North games this week.
The Sunday game is no problem as I am happy to support the Kangaroos.
But Saturday night
I H A T E Sydney.
They are a punch of economic parasites.
The AFL's love child.
Looked after and protected by the AFL at our expense.
And, apart from "Farmer", the two most obnoxious words in football - "Hall" and "Everitt".
I could never ever ever support them against anyone.
(Well maybe against Carlton).
But that leave Eddywood.
Nobody respectable person could ever cheer that scum.
I think the only viable strategy is to
- abuse players from both teams and
- focus on the fact that my enjoyment will come from the fact that one of them must lose.

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

The only time I have even remotely wanted the Pies to win was against the Crows in round 22. And we all know what happened. Geez I hate Collingwood.Enrico_Misso wrote:

Option 3: get absoluted plastered so the colours all run into one another and it looks like you are watching a Saints game. Every time either team kicks a goal you can celebrate.
Option 4: Don't go.

But Riccardo, Thugby League is about as interesting as watching paint dry, IMO of course. Each to their own I know and there are tens of thousands that love it, but boy it's dull.riccardo wrote:Got a few options:

Ditch the Sunday game and watch a team for all Melbournians - the Storm play the Brisbane Cheaters on Sunday at 4pm at Olympic Park, and we'll win, too.

Yeah (though they arn't the team for all Melbournians only for those who jumped on the bandwagon) you could go see how the grapple tackle has been perfected by the Stormers. As they play the 2006 Premiers who are missing up to 8 players due to injury from the premiership team of 2006 including the best player in the world not on drugs. There would be something seriously wrong with the Storm if they can't beat the pack of kids the Broncos will be fielding on Sunday.riccardo wrote:Got a few options:

And how do the Broncos cheat ???

You mean that 'tainted' premiership they were gifted by the incompetent referee, linesmen and video ref?redwhite&blackblood wrote:Yeah (though they arn't the team for all Melbournians only for those who jumped on the bandwagon) you could go see how the grapple tackle has been perfected by the Stormers. Made the 'whispers in the sky' umpiring look like an Umpire Training Video in comparison.
I look forwsrd to hearing Chuckling Wayne Bennett trying to influence the refs before the game about the 'grapple'.
It's a pity that video evidence seemed to suggest that his 'cleanskins' used it more than the Storm did! But, in true Brisbane tradintion, never let the truth get in the way of a good whinge.

Like Sheedy, Roos, Malthouse, Worsfold and Matthews all do? Seems to me all the great coaches do that sort of thing!Mr Magic wrote:I don't know? I consider it cheating to call a press confrence bytching about a grapple tackle days before you play the supposed perpetrators of the tackle.redwhite&blackblood wrote:Yeah that would be it so how did the Bronco's cheat there? Not Brisbanes fault the NRL employed inept officials for the game.
The whinging coming out of the Broncos is, at times, pathetic for such a supposedly strong team in a tough sport.

You two may as well just go the games and scream out "Go News Ltd."riccardo wrote:I consider it cheating to call a press confrence bytching about a grapple tackle days before you play the supposed perpetrators of the tackle.redwhite&blackblood wrote:Yeah that would be it so how did the Bronco's cheat there? Rubbish game.
Wish I hadn't wasted my time going.
Realised I could never barrack for Collingwood.
Found myself barracking for the Parasites to make it a contest.
But enjoyed Spider's many clangers.
And Hall being totally ineffective.
