Fiora kicked 0.5 for the match ...
Really, this guy has developed into a very consistent player for us, and his 5 shots on goal showed that.
We really needed him to kick 2-3 of those, and 2-3 were VERY gettable.
X. Clarke 0.2
S. Birss 0.2
They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Very true - but the kicking for goal technique of Milne is just as bad. He drops the ball from such a height, no wonder 2/3 of his shots either miss, fall short, go out of bounds or are compete mis-hits.Gilbert The Great wrote:X Clarke has a very poor kicking technique and something needs to be done about it. He consistently misses easy goals.
Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Fiora has gradually been working bugs out of his game since he was drafted.
200-2001 he would duck his head and pull out of contests. You don't see that anymore.
2002-2004 he just struggled to get enough of the ball to consistently make an impact. He has lifted his disposal average from 10 to 15.
2006 his disposal was inconsistent and his defensive pressure not good enough. He is now usually very damaging with the footy and his defensive pressure is above the average for most outside midfielders
2007 he is struggling in front of goal. 12.19 isn't good enough. Hopefully in 2008 he can kick something like 20.12.

He's had a much improved year and for him it's just a good result to play all 22 games. Hopefully he can have a bit more gradual improvement next year and had he got rid off all those little isolated things like missed goals, bad turnovers and poor decisions he would have been a very good player this year.

To be fair, this is very true.mad saint guy wrote:Fiora has gradually been working bugs out of his game since he was drafted.

Each time he raises his game to a new level, he never gets there comfortably. For every hurdle he leaps, a new one pops up.
However, I've been pleased with his progress and if he can become a 25-goal midfielder next year, that would be a real tick for his progress.

after this afternoons dees and scummers match, you can add fat boy to that list.......if he had kicked straight, it would have been all over red rover to the tanking argument.......The_Dud wrote:if he and X Clarke could kick straight, we'd be a much more damaging team
must be two of the worst kicks for goal in the league
.everybody still loves lenny....and we always will

Their kicking for goal can be improved, but a player who can't get the ball isn't all of a sudden going to becomea ball magnet.The_Dud wrote:if he and X Clarke could kick straight, we'd be a much more damaging team

So we are way in front - at least they get plenty of the ball.

When that happened, a fellow poster and I looked at each other and remarked "someone will come on the Forum and bag him for that". How right we were!!
Nice to see those blinkers are still welded on tight
Trust Thommo enjoyed his send off? Gutsy effort to make it and great of RL to let him. Was so obvious he wasnt anywhere near 100% and those who screamed for him to be playing if it was a live game must feel a bit silly now.

Lol, you know me couldn't miss an opportunity. Maybe next year I should cut him some slack?saint66au wrote:LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLkilla_gram wrote:That was a good chest mark he didn't take, which the Tiges rebounded for a goal at a crucial time.

The boys all ended up round at Rooey's house until the small hours of the morning.
