St Kilda will follow through on its plan for a Sandringham Zebra to become a Sainter this year as part of an initiative to improve their alignment - though it’s slim pickings for a rookie-list option.

Re: Zebras alliance
It's a good initiative and only costs us a rookie list spot. Allows us to identify that next tier talent (late bloomers) up close whilst only requiring 1 or 2 list spots.

Re: Zebras alliance
There is not 1 Sandy player I would rookie list, let alone List they are s***!
Ollie Lowe is probably their best player - not AFL standard
Hipwell, Seaton and Watson are short stocky barely VFL standard players.
Vesley is a young tall who didn’t show much
Max Bernier wasn’t really a Sandy player. StK were keen on him but his games at Sandy were poor.
Taryn O Leary
Can run, but is small and a bit of a cat
Does Adrian Cole count? He was a Dragons player who played 3 or 4 for Sandy- I’d barely select him!
There’s the Player agents kid, forgotten his name?! tallish forward

Re: Zebras alliance
It seems like a waste of a list spot if Sandy is really Spudringham at the moment.
Then i thought, well, we held onto Allison for 4 years so we don't value all of our list spots anyway.
Welcome to our new whipping boy, whoever you are.

The list changes for 2025 have begun, always an interesting time for an avid supporter.

Re: Zebras alliance
The lack of talent put up by Sandringham really highlights just how poor this alignment is for our club. There is NOT one Sandringham player worthy of being placed on an AFL list, their supplementary list is woeful. The problem is obviously a lack of finances by both clubs but the Saints simply have to find a way to cut the apron strings with Sandringham. We continue to be hamstrung the union just does not work.

Re: Zebras alliance
Here’s an idea, let’s make it a reality TV show where the Sandy players vie for a spot on the Saints list.
We could call it the recruit
In all seriousness, it may well be a waste this year, but may assist Sandy recruiting future talent if players see an opportunity to be AFL rookie listed.
