2025 Fixturing
Are we finally going to stand up for ourselves in 2025 and demand that we're not disadvantaged yet again?
We have been screwed when it comes to just about every non-Docklands tenant in recent years.
Adelaide – Last game at Docklands was in 2019. Only 2 of our last 12 have been at Docklands.
Brisbane – Two of our last seven at Docklands.
Collingwood – One of our last six played at Docklands.
Fremantle – Four of our last ten played at Docklands.
Geelong – Three of our last nine played at Docklands. Five games at Kardinia Park in the last six years.
GWS – None of our last eight at Docklands.
Gold Coast – 3 of our last 7 at Docklands. Played in Qld in all but 2 of the last 9 seasons.
Hawthorn – 4 of our last 6 at Docklands – the only clash in our favour.
Melbourne – 3 of our last 8 at Docklands.
Port Adelaide – 2 of our last 13 at Docklands.
Richmond – 3 of our last 7 at Docklands.
Sydney – 4 of our last 10 at Docklands.
West Coast – 3 of last our last 12 at Docklands. Last four all in Perth.
Based on the numbers above, we have home ground advantage just 29% of the time. It's completely absurd.

Re: 2025 Fixturing
Take out Covid years 2020 and 2021 and it might not look as bad as you're suggesting.
I think the home ground 'advantage' balances out over time
If we lose to West Coast this week it defeats your argument. Last year we won 5 at Marvel and lost 5 at Marvel.

Where it hurts is the games v Hawks at Ras and Geelong at Geelong.
Given that certain clubs never have to go there.

Re: 2025 Fixturing
We had one of the, if not the, softest draw in the comp last season.
We’ll get another soft one next year due to our poor results this season.

I hope we play both WA teams in WA in 2025.

There are sportsmen & women and teams that just don’t give a f*** and get the job done, any time any place.
Then there are moaning whores of people who bitch and complain and display their victim mentality.
There are hardened competitors, and nice competitors.
Thank f*** Ross doesn’t buy into excuses and bitching and moaning.

Amazing that experts and past legends still look at the fixture when selecting winners.D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Thu 18 Jul 2024 9:29pm There are sportsmen & women and teams that just don’t give a f*** and get the job done, any time any place.

Re: 2025 Fixturing
Mr Cooper, have a look at Freo.
Couldn't get a flight from Tassie to Perth on the Kremlin's sponsor so went with a private charter.
Half-hour after take-off, the water ran out on the jet.
No toilet use allowed. Pax had to go into handbasins.
Cabin crew had to scoop it all out.
A four-hour flight from hell.
That's the sort of rubbish that will affect your recovery post-game

Yet the reality is, that isn't true. Every sport in the world is impacted by location advantages.D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Thu 18 Jul 2024 9:29pm There are sportsmen & women and teams that just don’t give a f*** and get the job done, any time any place.

Re: 2025 Fixturing
I’m not for one moment suggesting there is a level playing field in the AFL and certain clubs are not disadvantaged.Beno88 wrote: ↑Fri 19 Jul 2024 10:59amYet the reality is, that isn't true. What I’m saying is those who use it as excuses or bitch and moan have an issue.
I’ve been involved in elite sport (not as an athlete) and have witnessed athletes come through incredible adversity and prosper, and also seen incredible talent give in when the going got too tough.

Re: 2025 Fixturing
The advantage that the two SA teams have had over the last 12 years needs to be addressed and rectified.
It's nonsensical to compare this to players complaining. These are two very different issues.
If fans aren't allowed to voice their concerns, how will this glaring inequality ever be fixed?
People pick and choose their pet equality projects.
I say, f****** bollocks.
