Difference between 22 and 23

Last night shows the difference between this year and last year- EFFORT.

too many times in the second half of last year the effort wasn't there. We played a top 4 side , we were undermanned and a normal bounce and a BS free kick away from being a goal donw with 2 min left.
People here can talk us down by saying how bad melbourne were but a large part of that was our pressure and structure.
We had Canamiti, Phillipou as first year players , Owens, Windy , Brynes, NWM, Sharman, with NWM 32 games experience the most.
Out we had Ross, King, Hill, Clark, Battle, Higgins ( take out of melbourne Melksham, Langdon, Lever, Viney the equivalent)

Game was lost in the first qtr - Phillipou needs to be more clinical with goal kicking as the touched was a bad error getting that close to the mark and with Sharman and Cordy were real momentum breaker - could have been 5.1 - 1.0 instead of 3.3

That said Melb got out to 15 or so in the second half and we could have been excused for having them runaway with it.

Off to GC in a must win. Hopefully get Clark, Hill Battle and Higgins back in.
