Re: Membrey Long Term
Ross mentioned that “consistent messaging” was important.
Is that the same as honest messaging?

Re: Membrey Long Term
Coincidence or not , it feels typical of the messaging this year.
Soften everyone up with a good news story about one player, back it up a day or 2 later with a setback story for another player

Life is never more fun than when you're the underdog competing against the giants.

Re: Membrey Long Term
He’s been consistent on Steele from day 1
Steele door stopped ….not so clear
That’s the frustration
Lyon AGAIN categorically- no knee issue…. anyhoo people still looking for the smoking gun..
Membrey? Player doesn’t feel confident in his knee
Why would you force him to play
Not long term plans anyway

Re: Membrey Long Term
They got the messaging wrong - conflicting stories
Made the club look foolish
He is obviously sore - does Lyon think everyone’s dumb

Did they?
You must have inside knowledge clearly
Do reveal your sauce
Or just more speculation dressed up as fact

Re: Membrey Long Term
The source was Steele himself who clearly said in two separate grabs on the channel 9 and channel 7 evening news bulletins that he was having problems with his knee.

On the 13th, Steele said he hurt his knee a couple of weeks ago. Im assuming that was against Hawthorn on the 27th.StPeter wrote: ↑Thu 22 Jun 2023 1:47amThe source was Steele himself who clearly said in two separate grabs on the channel 9 and channel 7 evening news bulletins that he was having problems with his knee.
Turns out it was a grade 2 strain.
Obviously, he carried it through the bye rested for up to 10 days and was under done against Sydney on the 8th where he picked up 24 disposals, 16 of them uncontested and he had 6 score involvements. He looked ok.
No doubt he was sore, he just played football and went to get himself checked out and he went to see what options are available. His employer, just like mine, has a duty of care to follow doctors orders.
Clearly, having a week off wasnt pressed by the doctor becuase there was a bye, then a decent game against Sydney and probably because he had 9 days to prepare for Richmond and then took it easy at training again and was under done again. He has been under done since he came back from shoulder surgery.
This is Superman, Captain Courageous, AA, B&F legend, The man of Steele we are talking about. Media beat up indeed.
Interesting that McGuire junior gets a lead, Jack gives info saying he was injured 2 weeks ago, Channel Maguire chases him in an ambulance for a throw away catch, 'You've been to the doctor Steeley, did you hurt yourself on the weekend Jack?' the response was probably , Nah, I've got a sore shin, I'm getting my shoulder looked at, probably gonna get a script for this cryptonite infection and I hurt my knee a couple of weeks ago, a bit of everything really, but there is no way I'm not playing. Please!

Not "Simon Templar". He was here first. Please change my username to Bumstead and if possible make me one of those very large sandwiches, thanks!
