Re: Cooper Sharman ...
Lol covered ground well for a guy with no defensive efforts
I Thi k he’s clearly improved his aerobic capacity
I’d persist
I think a forward set up of
King
Caminiti
Sharman
Could work

Re: Cooper Sharman ...
Hard to pick any good players in this weeks side, but thought he presented well and was a solid footballer.
My criticism of him in his previous games was going missing for long periods, but I think he popped up in enough contests to scratch that one off the list for now.

Re: Cooper Sharman ...
Vort is gonna choke on this…
BF take
Sharman with the 9th most ranking points for the game (89).
18 disposals
9 contested
8 marks (2 contested)
6 score involvements
2 clearances!
1 goal 2
Made himself very hard to drop. Plenty to work with there. Huge upgrade on Zaine.

Re: Cooper Sharman ...
Yep solid numbers but what impressed me today is he’s added a tank got really fit - he was covering some ground today and did some smart things with ball in hand as one poster on BF noted:
he looks like he just accidentally finds the footy. He looks laconic and like he just drifts around doing nice things. A couple of his quick handballs released at just the right time broke the Roos defence and got us inside 50. Hard to imagine why we persisted with Cordy for so long even if he was helping playing a role.

Re: Cooper Sharman ...
Perhaps a late thanks to Rats is in store. I thought moving Coops to HBF last season was a silly idea but it got him involved in the general play a bit more and RTB has really run with the idea of improving his mobility… and credit to Sharman who appears to have done the work. Hopefully he can build on that performanceTeflon wrote: ↑Mon 08 May 2023 12:59am Yep solid numbers but what impressed me today is he’s added a tank got really fit - he was covering some ground today and did some smart things with ball in hand as one poster on BF noted:

Re: Cooper Sharman ...
He did quite well. He certainly played better than Membrey.
With Caminiti a certainty to be available week and King hopefully not far away, competition for tall spots in the forward line is about to become pretty intense. At the moment, I wouldn’t have either Membrey or Sharman in my team if all of King, Caminiti, Owens and Philippou are available. Theoretically, you could put Membrey or Sharman in ahead of one of Butler or Higgins, but I wouldn’t.

Re: Cooper Sharman ...
As much as I’d love to see both king and Caminiti come in next week, the selectors may go for a king, Sharman & Membrey combo!

Re: Cooper Sharman ...
So Sharman is now capable of playing in a premiership?
Maybe wait until he plays against an AFL side before going too early.

Re: Cooper Sharman ...
He was pretty good
Played better in the AFL than the VFL in his time at StK
It’s like that with some players

Re: Cooper Sharman ...
I’d have thought you’d at least have gone with a well done, you can only beat who you beat but he needs to keep improving… but not even the hint of a compliment. Poor form IMO.

Re: Cooper Sharman ...
My reference point for compliments will only be applied to a body of work that includes sustained performances against top 4 contenders.
Not an average performance in a team that looked like an ammo side struggling to beat a contender for the wooden spoon.
Still haven't seen anything that makes me think Sharman will be on the list in 2024 but will be happy to be proven wrong.
Reference points and sample sizes are important.

Re: Cooper Sharman ...
Reference points and sample sizes may well be important, but apparently we are short on those. Never mind, maybe we can trade some of our excess hubris and bovine manure, we seem to be awash with those things.........
