Gresham
Just a thought, earlier in the season, Gresh was flying and was an important part of our early success.
However, as we all have seen, he has dropped off badly in the 2nd half of the season.
I just wonder if he's run out of steam and could use a spell because remember he hasn't had a full season for the last 2 previous seasons.
As I said, just a thought.

Think of me long enough to make a memory.

Re: Gresham
Not sure you can rectify his kicking which is sub standard.
Is also poor defensively and cheats a bit.
Are these issues fixable by changing postions, has he reached his ceiling.

Re: Gresham
He's a very good small forward who can rotate through the midfield, I suspect he still doesn't quite have the tank to play as a full time mid.

Re: Gresham
Had decent start to the season & looked like the missing link to our game plan but I think opposition teams saw this as well put a bit more time into him & has been pretty flat in the last 5 or 6 games . Gresh is a handy player for sure but like Billings ,Clark & Coff's for relatively high picks either through injury & just bad luck none have made real impact so far IMO. Lets hope that turns around in 2023

Re: Gresham
He is injured now anyway
St Kilda should never trade with Essendon and Sydney ever again!!!

Re: Gresham
He might not be perfectly suited to the midfield, but he is the type of player we desperately need there and there’s nobody else to do the job bar the dark horse Hannebery, who probably won’t be able to deliver much. So the club has no choice but to play Gresham in the middle as much as possible.
We can’t rely solely on Ross, Crouch and Clarke to be our link men. It doesn’t work.

As soon as we a decent midfielder gresh goes forward.
If he doesn’t get traded
Either way looks like plan for 2023

Re: Gresham
He's an elite small forward or an average midfielder.
Take your pick.

Re: Gresham
A lot of the training reports viewed that he was being managed.....not involved in full training. Could indicate he's been carrying something for a while

Re: Gresham
He is a dilemma. Early in the season seemed to have done the work and was flying.
Whether he has been carrying an injury or 2 years of minimum football have caught up with him not sure but has been poor since the Ess game.
Too often doesn't take the first option and tries o take on the tackle or an extra baulk - which often leads to a rushed kick - must be a nightmare for the forwards.
As someone above pointed out the exact player we need in regard to style (when going) - explosive, good finisher.
My guess is those closer then us have to make a call on him, how much better can he be with another pre season (as seemed to have finally dropped the extra weight he carried) or if the right offer came for a need would you consider it?

Re: Gresham
There's always excuses for him on this forum since his first year...."it's his first year, it's just his second year, he's outta position, he's injured, he's only just returned from injury" and on and on...
This is the rubbish you all wanted Ernie banned for...talking bullsh1t with no substance.
The reality of his training, attitude, propensity for injury, poor technique in kicking, lousy defence, inability to bring his fitness level to a standard that can run the whole game AND the whole season...when do we stop making excuses and talk facts about our players?
Can he be coached better?
Does he want to change?
Will he accept correction?
What are his mental blocks?
What are his physical limitations?
What skills need focus?
It's all good to say coaches approach this already but they don't....we have soooo many talented lads that are just failing year after year and we accept it ...make excuses...or get bitter like Ernie.
I 1000000% ( yes that old chestnut) believe Gresham COULD be an elite AA MID OR SMALL FORWARD but I think he lacks the passion and the skillset, both which are coachable.
We need a new coaching set up and outta the box style that flips this damn sopping wet club on its ear.
