Re: New Spud jumper
So the short sleeve should have #2 (number limited to his games) and the long sleeve #49 (84 for the year he was recruited)Sebastian Tombs wrote: ↑Thu 09 Jun 2022 1:16am For a start his number wasnt number 2 till 1988 In 84 he wore number 49
Allan Sidebottom wore number 2 in 1984
However, apparently, #2 was re-issued retrospectively - lol
#2 is Spud's number - no disrespect to anyone else who wore it though
I do not think I will buy it - as a piece of Memorabilia it seems like a cash grab - with only a portion of the proceeds (not told how much) going to the Mental Health cause - rather make a donation.

Re: New Spud jumper
I'll buy the long sleeve, not as memorabilia but as a retro fashion statement PLUS these are going to be some cold days & nights until Spring.

Re: New Spud jumper
And the club wrote"Ahead of Spud's Game, we've re-created a replica of the guernsey made famous by Spud in debut season" and of cause in 2022 the club cant use the word "his" because that may offend someone but lets move on.I'm not going to even ask how he made it "famous" but lets talk about the jumper its self , Dont get me wrong I love the concept of doing a reto "moment in time" type jumper like in the EPL very cool and there are really only two things you need to do. First would be the look the feel etc of the jumper judging by the pics they did a outstanding job second would be if its for a player like in this case it is would be get the f****** NUMBER right
So the Question is are you happy to pay 300 bucks for a reto Allan Sidebottom 1984 jumper ......

Re: New Spud jumper
I want the long sleever...and i want one of Winmar's tribute jumpers too...I have grown to like it.
Now, what is with the sizes?
What is your M and what is your L?
I do not wanna buy one that doesn't fit my superb Greek God body.
BTW, anyone make sense of sizes?
I am 182cm, slim with a beer pot that is rather like your typical skinny fat..think a slightly skinnier version of Hank Hill..

Re: New Spud jumper
Why does the long sleeve guernsey have white cuffs? I would bought one if it weren’t for that default

Re: New Spud jumper
That he did but he's synonymous with #2 & the woollen jumper. I don't know why this is such an issue, they are not recreating a snapshot in time for posterity. They are simply honouring and embracing his legacy.

Re: New Spud jumper
great merch from the club
I'll pay overs for a replica woolen guernsey with the right badges
the 66 commerative one was a ripper - details spot on
the Valentines greeting cards one is a pretty famous jumper worn by any number of Saints champions
a real one would set you back a few bob
