Re: Changes for next week
I would also drop Windhager forByrnes. I would like to see Sharman come in as well but not sure who he replaces
St Kilda should never trade with Essendon and Sydney ever again!!!

Re: Changes for next week
I think we need Sharman in cause we dont get reward for effort in our forward half . We know he kicks goals, replacement for Wood who seems to spend time forward. We need to hit the scoreboard

Re: Changes for next week
Hope we don’t drop Wanganeen-Milera. He is starting to really show something imo.
If he is dropped it is just a matter of time before he comes back and becomes a star. IMO

Re: Changes for next week
Certainly need to get some better decision makers and ball users in, Webster, Paton, Butler and Wood should all go, Billings, Connolly and Highmore have been going OK at Sandy and although not setting the world on fire Sharman could add a bit more up forward than Butler. Owens may offer a bit more in the midfield and could replace Windhagger. It would be nice to have a tall on the bench Lienert would be my choice but Long would probably have to make way for him. Clark needs another week at Sandy and Byrnes is going well so some of the ball butchers in Ross, Gresham and Jones should be nervous although the last two add a bit of needed pace.
I don’t expect there will actually be many changes but we should reward good form not mediocrity

Re: Changes for next week
Important to remember that you are talking about good form against the 19th best VFL team as opposed to "mediocrity" against a team that is the best in the AFL by a fair margin.

Re: Changes for next week
King wasn’t that flash. He’s easily moved off the ball. He won’t chase when it hits the ground and is cleared away by the opposition.
Howard guards space and needs to clunk contested marks.
Maybe swap roles?
We’re too predictable!!!

Did Clark pilfer the E from Steele?

Re: Changes for next week
Billings for Wood.
Byrnes for Butler if Butler is still on the injury list. Otherwise poor Byrnes will need to be medical sub yet again.
I wouldn't be making any other changes. I can see why many posters think that Sharman would add something (at least on his 2021 form: he hasn't really shown enough in the VFL so far this year). But, unless we were going to drop one of Membrey or King, we don't need three tall forwards plus both Ryder and Marshall.
Highmore seems like a good player, but our backline was the best-performed part of the team today. I wouldn't be mucking around with that.
Connolly and Bytel and all the other favourites of a large group of posters on SS will just have to wait for their chance. Who would we drop to make way for them? Jones wasn't great today, but needs another game at AFL level to see if he can regain his form. Gresham hasn't been much chop in the last three games, but he's an essential player. NWM too is an essential player in my book.
The road to success is to keep picking our best players and keep trying to improve their combined performance as a team. If, through their performances in the pre-season or at VFL level, a player can demonstrate that they are definitely one of our 22-25 best, then by all means give them a chance in the AFL. NWM did that in the pre-season. Windhager did it in VFL games. Byrnes is incredibly close. The others not quite so much, and they'll have to wait.

Remember that game when Fevola played at full back on Gehrig. That was unpredictable. How did it go, can you remind me?

I remember stirring the Carlton supporters by shouting when the runner began running to Fevola.meher baba wrote: ↑Sun 08 May 2022 7:59pmRemember that game when Fevola played at full back on Gehrig. That was unpredictable. How did it go, can you remind me?
"Telephone, telephone, telephone for Mr Fevola".
Can't imagine Voss giving up 4 points just to prove a point to player whose head got oversized.

Re: Changes for next week
The Saints will need their best team to beat Geelong at Docklands.
You can never count on effort but you can always count on quality.
If that quality comes with effort then the saints can win.
The problem is that quality is more likely to provide less effort.
