Dunstan watch
Looks totally at home in the Melbourne midfield.
Some beautiful linking handballs
Good luck to him

terry pretty sure you would look good in Dees midfield. Seagull last week at Marvel showed good footwork. Wait till he has a pressure kick over 30m.

Re: Dunstan watch
I had a few punts today and did alright. Cashed my profits but had $5.00 left over... did an absurd, Hail Mary punt on the Demons game. 17 legs: even score, margin, x players to kick goals, disposal etc
Never really thought it would get close to getting through but mostly normal things that happen in a game.
$75:1
16 legs went through... the last one I added fell short. Dunstan to get 20 touches. Finished on 18.
For me... it’s 345 more reasons to hate him

18 disposals
5 kicks
13 HBs
65 points
Not exactly dominant
If you want to see a dominant game
Oliver!
Best player in the game IMO

Re: Dunstan watch
I agree that Clayton is a better player than Luke Dunstan…. but I’d like to see Clayton and Max and Christian (and throw in 6 or 7 of Melbourne’s high profile players) play a mock game of footy ….say about 10 of Melbourne’s best players against 18 honest good ordinary players…who do you reckon would win?

Re: Dunstan watch
He’s a fair average quality player, like Acres and Newnes.
I don’t reckon we’re missing a single one of them. We’ve got the right players for the style we’re now playing.
Dunstan’s great for a style based on threading lots of intricate handballs in close. Our strategy is to try to clear the congestion and get the ball to our dangerous forward line.
We don’t need him.

Sorry the above is a bit cryptic. I’ll reword itScollop wrote: ↑Mon 25 Apr 2022 5:45amI agree that Clayton is a better player than Luke Dunstan…. but I’d like to see Clayton and Max and Christian (and throw in 6 or 7 of Melbourne’s high profile players) play a mock game of footy ….say about 10 of Melbourne’s best players against 18 honest good ordinary players…who do you reckon would win?
Yes!! Obviously Oliver is a better player!! Dunstan doesn’t come close…. but you need 18 blokes on the field and Dunny played his role
Good on him

Acres might be the outlier, he's looking like a slow burn like Syncs.meher baba wrote: ↑Mon 25 Apr 2022 7:28am He’s a fair average quality player, like Acres and Newnes.

I think Acres is currently playing A grade with elite potential.

Re: Dunstan watch
Not if Viney is good to come back. Can't see Dunstan retaining his spot.
Thought he was serviceable. Pretty savvy pick up by the Dees. They are a bit thin for inside mids.
Speaking of which, I reckon that's where we could possibly take it up to them in two weeks time. Crouch, Steele and Seb playing some great footy. Throw Zac in the middle and we're gonna have a few contested possessions go our way.
But let's take care of Port first. They're suddenly up and about.

Re: Dunstan watch
I agree, his game against Carlton was an A grade wingman's game. Continuous two way running, presenting, drawing tackles before dishing off, very strong. I think Ratten would be able to find a spot for him in our current 22.Vortex wrote: ↑Mon 25 Apr 2022 8:56amAcres might be the outlier, he's looking like a slow burn like Syncs.meher baba wrote: ↑Mon 25 Apr 2022 7:28am He’s a fair average quality player, like Acres and Newnes.

However, I also agree with Meher. With Crouch, Steele and Ross in their current form, would we have a role for Dunstan also? I would say no.

Dunstan based on this year's form of Dees and Saints would be only a depth player at either club.
Yes Dunstan can play at AFL level.
But in our midfield he would need to displace one of Steele, Crouch and Ross. Crouch and Ross have both improved the quality of their play and offensive side this year and so remain even better options than Dunstan for us than they were last season.
For attacking mids who rotate through Gresham, Sincs and Jones when he returns also are much better options for us.
And then we have the injured Clark on the horizon, and the mids in waiting of Bytel, Owens and Windhager.

He was always recruited as a back up for Viney.
Pity we couldn’t land a pick for him.

Re: Dunstan watch
He is an in and under mid. An area we have in abundance. Melbourne only have Viney and Oliver in that role. They are the best team in the comp but their biggest weakness is they are a bit thin at the coal face. The quality they have there is great but their depth is not.
We have Steele, Crouch, Ross and Jones backed by Windhager and Bytel. Melbourne is a far better fit for Dunstan than we are and because of that he has a better chance of playing there than he did here.

Owens is also another option as an inside mid. He’ll get another chance.SinCitySainter wrote: ↑Mon 25 Apr 2022 12:30pm He is an in and under mid. An area we have in abundance. Re: Dunstan watch
The club did the right thing delisting him.
But why is he a s*** bloke - because he was upset about being delisted by a club he had given plenty to? That said there must about 70 'sh*t blokes leave the game each year.

Re: Dunstan watch
Yep, over a series of matches last year his average was BOG.
Good pickup by Melb, who need some depth in the inside mid area more than Saints.
Still, if we get to finals he may well have been very handy. Not to be.
Why the s*** bloke comment I have no idea
