We have fooled everyone, and now, in 2022, the record get's set straight!

Up and onwards.

I am surprised we've (almost) had the wood over Hawthorn and North.

Could only see this being relevant if it was over a more recent history, two or three years?

I don’t think it’s relevant to predicting our success this year from a logical perspective at all.

What I am quite amazed by, is..

1) How those teams, Coll, Carl, Ess - the old school are so entrenched at the bottom. It’s just a reflection of their success in general, (and our lack there of) , but it so informs our sensibilities to this day.

2) ask yourself about your own life time as a Saints supporter and who your nemesis teams were as a fan. Now look at that chart and overlay your impression. It’s quite a trip. In my lifetime, as a tender young fan, Richmond, Hawthorn and North were strong. But they are mid tableish. South were weak…they should actually be lower on the ladder, I made a miss. But generally, it isn’t that incongruent. It has some order and sense to it. Amazing. Have to remind yourself that it is probably like this from any teams perspective…

Would Essendon ladder look, the same? I can’t be bothered checking…it’s OCD as it is.. but very interesting.

Hawthorn and North were BAD when they first started, hence got a good lead there diminished through the 80's.
Only 6 teams greater than 50% - hence the compulsory prefix "Long Suffering " when us supporters are referred to !
