Another one to cross off
Chol is off the wish list heading to GC on a 4 year deal but not too disappointed I think we can do better

Re: Another one to cross off
We currently have a first class ten-year ruckman and a first class two-year ruckman.
We have time to develop a supporting ruckman from the ground up.
Not sure why we'd be looking at this as a priority, especially when other clubs are in more desperate need.

Richmond’s Mabior Chol will play for Gold Coast next year.
Foxfooty.com.au understands the free agent has agreed to join the Suns and will notify the Tigers as early as this week.
Chol was weighing up a proposal from St Kilda but has ultimately decided he wants to join the Suns on a three-year deal with triggers for a fourth season.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Seemed like a decent prospect and a good fit
Not a devastating loss though

Sounded pretty certain to me.
It's a shame but I doubt we would have offered 4 years

Re: Another one to cross off
Yet another one to cross off.
Hayden McLean said to be negotiating a deal to stay at Sydney.
We have a year at best left with Paddy.
His playing time needs to be carefully managed. When he is being rested we need an able replacement which we currently do not have.
I would be surprised if we keep Hunter. He is not up to the job.
Max Heath is some years away.
Maybe Josh Battle but I don't think he is tall enough.
I was thinking pick 9 might be used for a really talented fast midfielder but maybe we need to use it to draft a kid like Mac Andrew.

Re: Another one to cross off
I have seen highlights of mac Andrew he is very quick and has good hands but unfortinaly I suspect the club will split our fist pick so we have enough points for the NGA boys.
We need next years picks for the big tilt at Bing so we wont use them.
Have we thought about Leek Aleer a running intercept mark CHB in the SANFL predicted to go about 30-45 picks, Or Lewis Young of the Bulldogs a KPB can play ruck 22 years old 200cm 100kg 24 games out of contract and Bulldogs have him as backup ruckman but he is manly a Defender.
Lets see Hunter with a full preseason he came in late just before season started

Re: Another one to cross off
We will take a player at pick 11
If any of our guys are bid on inside pick 20 we won’t get them
If they aren’t bid on i50 we may match points or may not
It depends how we rate them??

Re: Another one to cross off
Agree on Paddy. I love him but I think his body isn’t going to hold out for a full season and will start succumbing to multiple soft tissue injuries.
I would like to see the club bravely manage his playing time eg don’t pick him for interstate games , don’t pick him for games where we only have a short turn around , and don’t pick him 3 games in a row. May mean he only plays 13-14 home and away games , but gives him every chance to be injury free if we make finals - when we really need him. Could also prolong his career for 1 more year.

Re: Another one to cross off
Hard to understand that the 204cm, 94kg Heath may be years away but Mac Andrew at 200cm, 70kg would be a good selection now?
Won't get a game forward, too light for defence and couldn't possibly compete in the ruck against any current ruckmen.

Yeah well I for one don't believe for one second that Heath is years away.
I am willing to bet he will play next year

Re: Another one to cross off
Quite right CQS, that doesn't make sense. I remain really bullish about Max Heath and provided he has a strong pre-season I am happy to place on record that he will debut in the 1st half of the season and go on to become St Kilda's #1 ruckman into the future.

Re: Another one to cross off
Just curious.
How many fringe players have blossomed and succeeded in helping the Gold Coast in the meteoric rise up the ladder?
I don't mean superstars like Gazz junior, I mean the 23-26 year olds who play, say half a dozen games a year in a top or middle level team, then switch.
And then we have the old crusties who are good for a season or two..a Chad Cornes or a Setvie J at GWS.

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!
