Re: VFL Pies v Zebras
Sandringham kicking with a strong wind.
Allison's has done a couple of nice things across HB but dropped a couple of Mark's he should have taken.
Sharman looking real good forward has kicked a goal.
Something really notable is that Collingwood run and gun from defence when they win the ball. All their small, medium defenders and wingman take off and link up well.

Re: VFL Pies v Zebras
1/4 time Sandi 25 to Pies 11.
Sandringham players having trouble judging the flight of the ball in the air, particularly in defence.
Darby Hipwell had a couple of nice touches and did Clavarino & Joyce in defence.
Sharman looks a player and a natural forward.
Be interesting to see how the next quarter goes because
Collingwoods foot skills look a class above.

Who are the Saints listed players playing? I wouldn’t think it was too many considering our injuries

Re: VFL Pies v Zebras
Sandi started the quarter well with a goal to Dunnell.
Clavarino and Tyson Milne doing well down back.
Gees Ollie Henry is a player has Collinwoods both goals, both rippers.

Alabakis is a big unit, not the beanpole I expected.
Not much of a footy player unfortunately

Re: VFL Pies v Zebras
Collingwood's use of the strong wind by kicking long much more effective than Sandy who in the first quarter fiddled around with the short stuff too much.

Re: VFL Pies v Zebras
Collingwood on top Sandrinham getting smashed in the middle and giving away dumb frees in defence.
They have found a couple of players from their rookie list in Anton Tohill (200cm Irishmen) & Ginnivan who kicked 2 that quarter.
Tyler Brown and Sier are a class above any of our mids. Lok having a very quiet game, getting tagged.
Not a lot of positives for the Zebras in that quarter, I'm surprised they didnt send Dunnell to defence. Kent & Lonie having shockers. 6 goals to 1 that quarter.
Disposals Collingwood 189 to 147.
Scores Collingwood 51 to 31.

Re: VFL Pies v Zebras
Wind has dropped to zip.
Sandi kicked a couple of nice goals but then let Collingwood get a couple of easy goals back.
Collingwoods defence is playing really well Wilson, Keane & Chugg shutting down the F50 entries.

Re: VFL Pies v Zebras
Collingwood Magpies 11.15 (81)
Sandringham10.3 (63)
In the end the Pies were a much more polished team. Sier, Brown & Wilson all had 30 or more disposals.
Not a lot of positives for the Saints players.
Sharman had a couple of good moments in the game kicking two goals, but has a way to go defensively. You can see what the recruiters saw in him.
Clavarino & Joyce battled well in defence. Both are worth another year on the list.
Lonie did a couple of nice things but not enough.
Kent had a shocker no impact on the game at all.
Allison probably his best game for the club, still a bit apprehensive at times but a lot more physically involved in the game this week. Showed signs but needs to work on his physicality.
Hunter rucked ok and kicked a goal from a nice mark. Didnt get a lot of it and needs a 10 metre run up to jump at all.
Alabakis actually got a couple of disposals today. But he has to be the worst B Listed Rookie ever selected? He is useless and shouldnt be playing for Sandringham.

Re: VFL Pies v Zebras
I have been critcised for singling out our recruitment of Allison over Poulter & McMahon of Collingwood.
Allison showed shoots of what he may become today, but he still has a long way to go until he is playing AFL and making a contribution like Poulter has in his first year.

Re: VFL Pies v Zebras
We are wasting our time with Alabakis, he’s never going to make it.
Hunter is honest but won’t get another contract, nor will Joyce, Lonie and Allison.
Young Milne showed some very good signs, as did Sharman.

Re: VFL Pies v Zebras
Take those rose coloured glasses off Curly they are0 affecting your perception. 14 disposals playing on a wing against Ross who had not many more. You didnt see his slicing kick in the last 1/4 that set up a goal. Far from putrid for an 18 to kid.CURLY wrote: ↑Sun 04 Jul 2021 9:20pmPoulter was putrid again today.Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Sun 04 Jul 2021 8:33pm I have been critcised for singling out our recruitment of Allison over Poulter & McMahon of Collingwood.

Your opinions are that biased I dont know why I bother responding. How many first year players did we have out there today? Go and watch Allison's Sandringham games and get back to me about fumbling, no physicallity what so ever and a poor over head mark. But he can run and kick well.....???CURLY wrote: ↑Sun 04 Jul 2021 10:55pmImpatient Sainter wrote: ↑Sun 04 Jul 2021 10:50pmTake those rose coloured glasses off Curly they are0 affecting your perception. 14 disposals playing on a wing against Ross who had not many more. We had a second year key forward and mid and Connelly. If half of our injury list was available Byrnes Connelly Bytal would have played Sandy. Poulter is a battler nothing more he’s playing because Collingwood traded out senior players. They’ve got nothing else.

Re: VFL Pies v Zebras
You are kidding right? Brayden Sier & Tyler Brown both tore Sandringhams midfield a new one, getting over 30 possessions each and numerous clearances. Poulter is playing in front of both of them and a number of other quality players like Ollie Henry, Rantall & Ginnivan. So you are suggesting your opinion carries more weight than his coaches with 3 x Brownlows between them? You continue to deny the facts and are so wrong on this Im embarrassed for you!!CURLY wrote: ↑Sun 04 Jul 2021 11:54pmImpatient Sainter wrote: ↑Sun 04 Jul 2021 11:13pmYour opinions are that biased I dont know why I bother responding. And you talk about biased opinions. How about you get off Allison's back for awhile and lets see how he will develop.Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Sun 04 Jul 2021 11:13pmYour opinions are that biased I dont know why I bother responding. Did you read anything above that was not constructive? I wouldnt be saying anything that the club hasnt said to him. That he needs to impose himself more physically and attack the ball with more aggression.saynta wrote: ↑Mon 05 Jul 2021 1:22pmAnd you talk about biased opinions. The discussion with Curly was regarding his assessment of Poulter which is plainly wrong! Poulter is getting picked by Harvey & Buckley ahead of a number of talented VFL players, there has to be a reason.

So Sier Brown and co tore up VFL listed players? You'd think they should wouldn't you. Like I said earlier if we had Jones Hannebrey Clark Coffield Bytal Gresham available what would our VFL midfield look like.
