Geary
Dislocated right shoulder, was taken to hospital to have it put back in. This usually means there will be a reconstruction. Sad to see, but Captain Courageous, it’s time to retire.
Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

Re: Geary
I feel bad for him, but realistically it’s not going to hurt us him not being there, easily replaceable on field.

Re: Geary

Re: Geary
Absolute example of a player who got 100% return for what he had.
Hampered by injuries in the last 3 years if we had 22 each week who gave his level of effort we would be a hell of a better side,

Re: Geary
I hope we have strong enough leadership to make the hard decisions. And they should be,
a) Telling Gears he is not in best 22 if fully fit
b) Heal, rehab and do your best
c) We'll probably fire you at seasons end even if you do
No one doubts Gears of course, but like many players, he might think he can still play at 50.
Even if fully fit in a world of a fully fit team list, he shouldn't be in the team IMO, but should be a good stand-by player in the seconds. Now we are decimated by injury, as he is.
He is on the list, so give it all you got Gears, and who knows, if we made the finals by some stroke of a miracle, and our back line still leaked like sieve, there might be a place for you.

Re: Geary
Good thing about not making the finals is the club stalwarts can have a farewell match. Hopefully he can get back for it.
Gehrig emerged from scans yesterday saying he was "as sweet as a bun"

Re: Geary
I have a framed picture of the St Kida Side for 2007,
Gears is the only player still playing in 2021.
A real warrior and one of our better captains.
It would be sad to see him end his career with another injury.

Re: Geary
BUMP
How far away is Jarryn from playing?
I don't think we are going to be playing off in the granny in 2022 and I sincerely hope the club don't get all soft and sentimental and sign him on for next year.
Having said that, I'd love to be there for his last game for the RW&B this year

Re: Geary
I totally agree with you, but also that hasn't been a barrier to him getting a game the last year and a half.

Re: Geary
For those that remember…
What happened to him in 2010? IIRC he started well in 09 and then had some kind of season ending injury. I have no recollection of him in 2010.

Re: Geary
You’d think so
I’m all for respect but I’m absolutely serious IF he can’t see it’s time then he’s no longer thinking about the club ..it’s time
We have guys we need to give games to
Steele needs to lead free and in his own right
If he came back next year and still wanted to play on then Ratts needs to stop being big daddy and be responsible coach
We have to move on
