That'll test our lack of depth.magnifisaint wrote: ↑Sat 15 May 2021 8:27pm https://www.saints.com.au/news/936672/i ... r-marshall

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Marshall out for at least a month
In the rooms after the GC Suns game he (Marshall) could barely put weight on his foot, he was moving like it was broken or he had a large sliver of glass in it.
Billings was limping but moving ok.
To a layman (me) who clearly knows nothing about medical or footy injuries, Marshall looked like he needed to be managed or at risk of greater injury.
Unfortunately this has come to fruition this week.
They must have really been jabbing him up to play.
Such a valuable team asset, I hope they manage him correctly.
A big man with a foot injury is not a good sign.
And for people who don't think the modern player is tough, anyone who has broken a cheekbone (I have courtesy of a cricket ball) should understand how tough an effort by Crouch last week to shrug off the hit and keep playing.

When Marshall kicked off the side of his boot when shooting for goal , my immediate thought was that his foot had been jabbed. Turned out I was right.Joffa Burns wrote: ↑Sat 15 May 2021 9:25pm In the rooms after the GC Suns game he (Marshall) could barely put weight on his foot, he was moving like it was broken or he had a large sliver of glass in it.

Re: Marshall out for at least a month
So there is bad news and worse news.....what a crap hand fate has dealt since the end of last season. What to say, other than, mercy...I guess list management talks can be brought forward at least a month as well. Even the most forgiving of Boards will surely want some officials and several on the playing list to be sacrificed to the footy gods and to be seen doing something other than marking time in a backwards direction.
Mid season draft will be interesting to see if we go for band aids or save our cap capacity for a serious target.

Re: Marshall out for at least a month
I may be wrong, but aren’t all the mid season acquisitions basically Cat B rookies in terms of list spots? And only one year deals? So I don’t think it would really affect list management
