Every team has a Mare

Post: # 1892961Post older saint »

Having seen enough over the past 12 months to write off last night as a "mare", and not hit the panic button and demand mass changes.

I would think Crouch in and Webster out injured.

With Draper out Ess will be reduced in ruck strength, therefore either play both rucks or if you drop one i think McKernan out and Battle second ruck.

Hill is a tough one, do you leave him in and let him try to find form v Ess before Wc or go back for a practise game at VFL level , which may not be of greta benefit.

Beyond that at Marvel not sure too many others , Back line was serviceable considering how much ball so Carlisle doesn't come in.

We are hopefully beyond the panic, self destruct button by now

Round two against a team that we know has the cattle, just having trouble performing as a herd consistently.

And I reckon last week's slog in the wet might have filled out boys' edge somewhat.

It was a legit mare.
And somehow we were still a chance to win with 6mins on the clock.
Judging by how GWS are going in Freo, the conditions may have contributed more than we think.
Not excusing the awful skill errors, but we just never got out of second gear

Dees kept missing easy set shots.
They kept us in the game

No, our pressure forced them to rush their shots and to take pot shots under pressure. We were trying, and our defenders were actually okay.

Carlisle may not like it but he can play forward and second ruck better than McKernan.
The only thing he would dislike more is not getting a game.

Hill had St Kilda's 2nd most metres gained only beaten by Howard who had 14 kick ins added to his tally.
Once a player plays on over the goal square line the kick and distance count for the player, no longer the team.

The Dees are the same as the last two years. Very ordinary. The inbred Hillbilly got us purely because our best two ruckmen were out, giving his midfield an armchair ride. Put Paddy, Roma, Chips, Crouch, Geary, Carlisle, and Hannabery back in and it would be a very different story.

Really, i wonder.

I think Carlisle and Hannas would have helped. Carlisle wasn't there last year either...so let's pick him as emergency again! duh...

if Hannas can make it past the second quarter - not something we discuss when we speak of his 13 games - I think he would have been better than maybe Long, Sinclair and others, but really ..I expect little from him period. Didn't Paddy, Roma etc. play last year. Same old.

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!
