Best position for Ben King at St. Kilda
If, as expected we can get Ben King to the club at some stage, what would be his best position to suit us?
I personally think he would make a great key defender, that way he wouldn't be directly competing with his brother, at the same time stiffening up an area of the ground that needs more height.
He was great in defence for the Sandy Dragons until he was forced to go forward when Max did his knee.

He probably takes over from Carlisle and acts as a player that could rotate forward/alternate with a guy like Battle to disrupt opposition match ups

He would be best utilized by alternating with Max's jumper every few weeks. That way when full backs do their homework on Max they will be shell-shocked at how differently "Max" is playing this week.

Didn't he only play in defence because they had Max? Let's just get him here. I'm sure we'll find a spot for him. Maybe our them both on the wing.Saintmike65 wrote: ↑Thu 29 Oct 2020 12:27pm If, as expected we can get Ben King to the club at some stage, what would be his best position to suit us?

Re: Best position for Ben King at St. Kilda
Can’t see him ever being at stkilda.......why ? We couldn’t afford to have both and other players aswell to get where we want to be . He will be i’m guessing well paid at the suns as will max , the afl will be wanting the suns to get some success sooner than later to help them stand on their own feet rather than pumping money into it

Naa....play them both from the goal square...perhaps alternating on the long lead....swap jumpers at half time...

Behind Gold Coast, hopefully! GCS are compiling an impressive list and for once they are appearing to keep them on the same page. Let's hope we can be the last club to make hay while the Suns shine.

Then kick the ball out to the opposite wing to the opposition ruckman.remboy wrote: ↑Thu 29 Oct 2020 5:19pmDidn't he only play in defence because they had Max? Let's just get him here. Just my opinion.
We’d have to give up a LOT in a trade and we already have a similar player.

Let's win 4 of the next 8. Then take him as a FA @ 28, bag a 6th Premiership and start the next rebuild. Simples

Yep, then we can start planning for the 3 Riewoldt’s

If we got him, play the one who is the better kick for goal as a forward and the other in the ruck.

End of 2022 is a long way off. Total fantasy to be expecting him to come to us.

Yes it's a wonderful dream but doubt it's total fantasy. For all those who claim missing family, I would think a twin has the greatest claim.

I'm not sure we are going to get him if we do won't be anytime soon.
He is going to want to be the main forward. I don't think he wants to play CHB
Both him and Max in the F50 would be tricky

I think both in the same forward line is the only option, their running patterns will be worked out and their communication should be excellent. Both require a third man up. I can see a triangle F50 set up similar to...Viscount Jeremiah wrote: ↑Tue 03 Nov 2020 9:12am I'm not sure we are going to get him if we do won't be anytime soon.

TM
JB DB JG
MK BK
The 3 smalls would be assisted by Higgins & resting mids. DB's position can also have RoMa & Paddy fill it at times to stretch and exhaust a defence.
I really hope we get to see both Kings at the club sometime in the next 3 years.

This is true, they have an intimate bond.
But twins also get very sick of being treated as a sideshow, the twin towers blah blah blah.
People always getting them confused, being treated like they're the same damn person because they look alike.
Sharing birthdays and every other event, e.g. you got your P's? Then ask the other twin whats wrong with them, why didnt they get their P's ( true story)
But what would I know with mum being an identical twin and my girls identical twins.
I reckon Mr King is loving being Ben, not the twin.
That said....get the bastard at all costs!!!
