What are we missing....

I’m pretty happy with the sides balance but think there’s just a few gaps for us to be genuine top 4 material. We have a shot with this side and what we do over the next few trade periods will determine if we are genuine top 4 chances or sliders back down the ladder as oppositions improve.

With Coffield Clarke Wilki Dougs even Long (who makes error but give us hardness down back) we look ok - perhaps throw in another big defender to replace tradeable Carlyle and a Geary replacement and we are good?
Yes we need 2 big arsed mids who can step through traffic and deliver the footy or J Kelly as 1 and another solid citizen coming in at 2?
Rucks we look good - just hope Paddy can hang round for a season or two more.....I never truly rated him but have been super impressed. Marshall’s a star

Wings - Hill needs to improve but does gives us run we’ve lacked for years and doesn’t waste the footy....

So for me it’s

2 gun mids - priority
Another tall defender option to replace Fake Carlyle
Another lockdown small defender to replace Geary
Perhaps a genuine goal kicking HF?

Otherwise think we look ok?

Agree two mids - one outside one inside - on top of what we have and not at the expense of giving away any of our current highly rated players to get these new mids as this will only cause more gaps

Agree Carlisle will soon need replacing or at least we need another tall defender

Battle can be that goal kicking HF

Mids will have to come through either giving up picks or thru free agency

Zac Williams as an outsider classy runner thru FA would be a good start or at least he would allow Clark or Coff to play thru the middle if he plays off HB.

Just get Jye Caldwell from GWS. Young inside/outside mid from GWS out of contract. Trade our first pick this year and get it done. He’d be perfect.

Steele and Jones are right up there.

Bytel could be very good, but an elite 24-26 year old ball winner with pace and skill is on the wishlist.

Our entries into forward 50 especially in first half were ordinary we’ve actually bombed away a bit all year - it looks good when smalls kick crumbing goals but when they get shutdown aka Cats we struggle
