Yes Alan Sinclair had a shocker at Moorabbin one day - in those days you could sign a player mid week (i think he arrived from Fitzroy)
Was that 1979 or 1980?
Kicked about 7 points in a particular day - including from the goal square
Lost the game only just
Things you remember. The next week he kicked our first goal from the boundry 45 out at the Lakeside oval. Saints fans were on our feet (although standing room only)
Lost that game by aprox 100 points. Did not see much of Sinclair after
Jack Daniels kicked a great goal in the 1996 pre season cup grand final - we knew we were in for a good day. Jack is still a sainter - seen him on the train is saints merch with his son
We used to call Stephen Newport the Spy because he always kicked it to the opposition. Nobody can top Jayson Daniels. Used to love him on the wing though, hard as nails.

Stewie Lowe had his moments. But worked on it hard to improve.
In his early years Stewie was a shocker. I remember one game where he took a free kick for out on the full, tried to kick it down the line but the ball never went back into play. Became a very reliable set shot, so there’s always hope.
He didn't even have a preferred foot and could have been as effective if he'd just punted with his knee.
This was my father's belief
And this is also mine:
Let the corn be all one sheaf--
And the grapes be all one vine,
Ere our children's teeth are set on edge
By bitter bread and wine.

Gresh is a pretty ordinary up and under kick right now- if he could only penetrate with his kicking as it is the difference between a good and a top midfielder.

Used to call Spiro Koukoumelous "SLEW" because of how often the ball slewed off the side of his foot.
Proudly assuming the title of forum Oracle and serving as the inaugural Saintsational ‘weak as piss brigade’ President.
I note the references to Craig DEVONPORT ( note the spelling ). I was at the SCG when he played his first game for our reserves. He played on Mark Browning and kicked 11 goals. I thought he was the new George Young. However , aside from a few handy games here and there Craig turned out to be a frustrating disappointment .

The spelling has always confused me, I never reconciled it was spelt the same way as that beautiful Tassie town.
Great memory & thanks for mentioning the forever great George Young. Sadly, the best thing he did was to transfer our frustration to Carlton.

But on the other hand I saw Spiro snap an absolutely brilliant goal from the boundary line in front of the members stand at Whinger Hill.
