Is it? And how did you come to your assessment of this rating ? Is there a quote from Lyon on this?

In 2009 Ball played 20 games. Eddy played 10.

I would be pretty confident that even at the end of 2009 that Ball's offered contract would have exceeded Eddy's.

A team has 22 players, and this includes many different roles and positions. We know that Lyon highly valued team structures and roles.

So yes we can assume that at least in some games that Lyon valued Eddy to perform a certain role and position.

Were Eddy and Ball competing for a like role in Lyon's mind? I doubt it.

No Ball's competitors were our other mids.

Or even future mids, or outside mids like Lovett.

Just watched the last half of the 09 Grand Final and can say Lyon got it horribly wrong on the day & letting him go afterwards. Ball in the 3rd quarter did some good things & we were beaten quite comprhensively in the last quarter, Ball could have made a difference.

Who replaced Ball in 2010? Was it supposed to be Lovett? In terms of character we lost a true leader and champion to go for a complete scum bag in Lovett.

Lyon is a very stubborn man & our club ended up losing a top player for a coach that ended up leaving us in the lurch a year later.

To lose Ball for nothing also is complete madness. An extra quality player in the mid field in 2010 & beyond we required.

We lost big time everywhere with Ball going for nothing & the fact leaves the club after these decisions make sit even more hard to take.

We move on.

Who gets first crack at the father son rule if he plays 100 games with the Filth, as well??

I don't think he's got kids yet, but it is an interesting one

Fact is
We lost Luke Ball and received Zero ...... He went to a club for 1M over 3 years
We gained Andrew Lovett, costing us a FRDP ....... And 1M over 3 years

Good list management......I would say NO

Spin it anyway you want, we were the losers and blame lies with the organization.

Well done to collingwood, they benefited from our mis-management
Very good post

Player gets to pick. One or the other or Draft.

Both Richmond & Collingwood had a dip at Cloke - Travis chose the Pies.
