St.Dianne wrote:Well, I have been a member since 1979 and I have all my membership tickets/cards etc since that date. On the letter sent to me it says 1982 so they obviously have records back further than 2005. Coming up for 30 years membership next year!!!
Very interesting!
I got the same thing - 1982.

I used to have junior memberships in the 60s to mid-70s.
But when I was too old for that and too poor as a student I couldn't afford the up-front membership (though I probably paid more in weekly admission !).
Took up membership when I joined the workforce.
I would have guessed 1980, but 1982 could be right.

So if they have lost the database, how did they arrive at 1982 ?
Do they have some records dating way back?
Or was it just a guess?

I also received mine in the amil today

Logged on and got the error message. grrrr @ Ticketmaster.

My question is how they can get mine right (been a paid up member since 1972 - although back then as a kid my old man was paying) ... yet my wife who joined in 2000 when we got seats at telstra dome is down as 2007 as is my son who became a member the day he was born in 2005???

Still happy they recognise my 37 seasons of membership. No idea why my oid man didn't pay membership for the first 5.5 seasons of my life - the damn cheapskate!

Nah, you're much better suited as our recruiting manager, you have shown just how great you are in this field...

With your suggestion of picking up Fergus Watts as our #1 draft pick was a gem. (does anyone remember the constant posts from b4e on this matter)...

Also the constant remarks of just how good Rix is was another master stroke..

Keep up the good work and I am sure the club will be knocking on your door...

I just called the Club Membership Department and spoke to Laura. She was very helpful! Our 4 memberships are all done now.

I think you will find that the persons associated with this are long gone.

Let's get over it & get behind the club as they try to do something in recognition of their members.

Which turkey is running marketing then? There is a billion different ways, and cheaper, you could do something nice for the members. Personally, I have never felt so disjointed from the club, it dosent take a genius to make members feel wanted.

a number on a card ffs, my dear GOD

Yes the retention of current members is important but...

its not encouraging new members or members that have let their membership lapse....

This is what the club should be directing the marketing $ at IMO....

I wont be ringing them. I cannot see how this important to anyone, in any way what so ever, means absolutely nothing. Jeez, the world really has gone crazy.

exactly right. We need some new people in various roles down there, highly embarassing to say the least.

a couple of questions

1. what have the club done wrong?

2. what should they have done?

I'm asking. You pretend to have all the answers but seem to only want to pot them.

Just curious, the database is out of order from 2004 backwards.... this is the current admins fault?? huh?

This isn't an just an exercise to provide recognition to the members, that is part of it but, I believe that the primary objective of this is to rebuild lost records.

They have to rebuild the records because previous administrations didn't bother. Records are important.

I'll answer one...

Just why is the Club aiming at an increase of less than 1,500 members???

The club is looking at a target of only 32,000 members for next season...

So, if they reach that they are seen to reach their their target and meet expectations

Again, yes the retention of current members is important, but the Club needs to push to attract new members and members who have let their membership lapse ...

IMO the Clubs target is pathetic and embarrassing...

Why not 35,000??

Is it because the Club don't want to consider themselves as under achievers ??
