Shame someone had to butt in to a thread dedicated to a bloke who did everything humanly possible to win this club a flag...

But gees, if we admire one players efforts then we accept mediocrity apparently.......oh but wait, he didnt mean that at all did he

Yeah it was a real shame HD. I was enjoying this thread and actually agree with what the poster said, but it was not the time or place to post something purely to flame and jack a thread.

Really piss weak and typical of a poster who thinks it is cute to troll and then start a flame war on a tribute thread.

As for the tribute for Harvs - well done to Ch10, Michael Voss for his heartfelt speech, and the players and officials who made the guard of honour for him.

To Jack Barker, mate you absolute champion, and Danielle, what a choice Harv's made in you - beautiful, gracious, and charming.

Well done to all and thanks for the effort Harvs.

Lance or James??

It was good to see a GREAT of the game acknowldeged on Browlow night.

Obviously missed by one poster is that the Brownlow is the night of the year which ackowledges individual excellence....and Harvey has been the defintion of that for 21 years.

Well done Banger...and well done to the AFL to acknowledge him on it most important night for individual achievement.

Among his many achievements...the only player to have polled Brownlow votes in 20 individual seasons. That is beeng the BEST for a long long period.

Apart from Banger and Cooney...the AFL also acknowleged three others for their individual effort....The Dogs Property Steward and two people working at the grass roots.

Congrats to all.

they apparently locked the doors and stopped people coming and going during sections of the evening- including during Harves tribute
Cooney, Judd, KB and others were outside at the time

there have been some comments stating it went to long- not Harves fault he was his usual understated self
I guess were blinded because of the colour of our glasses ( apart from p66 :? ) but as with admiring the winner who ever he may be and from which ever club he comes; surely a little honouring of a man who has given 21 years- and Polled in 20 Brownlow counts is appropriate..

Thank you Ch ten and the Brownlow organisers.

The tears flowed when they showed Jack there in his wheelchair.

It would've been almost his proudest moment.

Seeing that tribute really brought home to me the fact that Harves wont be out there for us in 2009 and beyond.

It was a very humbling moment.

.

agree on the jack barker comment...........you can see that where trevor is concerned... the fruit didn't fall far from the tree....

.......not sure that banger actually made the choice.......usually it is the woman who chooses.....and in this case, she choose wisely.......

I think you'll find that it was a Channel 10 initiated tribute, as Channel 10 were in charge of all extra content during the count. Approved by the AFL, but all Channel 10.

An excellent tribute for a great man.

I'll go against the grain here just for a change, but I was embarrassed by the Harvey tribute.

I was cringing the whole time.

The lamest thing I've seen in ages.

yeah probably a bit overboard with the guard of honour and how long it went on.

a package of highlights and short speech from either burkie loewe or spud would have been enough for me.
