It is a game of sublime skills that has simple rules and that's one reason it is universally loved.
You don't see rubbish like that shot clock farce yesterday in soccer.
NFL is a commercial manufactured sport.

Have a look at yesterday's game and explain to an international observer that we used to have a rule that paid a free kick for high contact when a player burrowed in head first to a tackler.
Then that got exploited so they then paid the free against the guy burrowing in head first.
Check yesterday's game and see the exact reverse happen !
Most international observers have no idea what is going on in our game.
The players even need to be lectured each week on rule changes and the flavour of the week !!
Let alone exploiting shot clock bull$hit.

Agree about the rules. Way too many grey areas and way too many matches being decided on the whim of some jerk off in green. Keep it simple, in fact so simple that even an umpire can follow it

Then explain a player is allowed to just hold the ball in the air for thirty seconds to end the game while watching the scoreboard in a nail biting finish !
What a joke of a game ours actually is.
It'll never fly on the world stage.
Same as grid iron.
In the last minute, they run down the clock before the snap, the quarter back takes the ball and kneels down surrounded by team mates. Repeat and repeat.
The commentators don't even bother.
They start discussing next weeks game before the final hooter.
The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

I'm guessing you've never seen an NFL game.
Yes, Kosi, correct. I've never seen a full NFL game because it is a rubbish format.
Doesn't have the credibility like the world game globally.
It is loved by a parochial following just like our game.
You're an idiot. And one that is lacking awareness.
NFL is a great game. Different but great. I have many times been in a room full of people who jump up from their chairs yelling and screaming at a caught pass or a touch down. That's excitement.
And it is one of the best games for TV. Lots of replays. Lots of time to eat, drink and talk. Tens of millions watch on TV and only thousands attend. So it is good for the most amount of people.
Basically I like all team sports. Denigrating one of them just makes you look ignorant.
