Josh Bruce - Contract watch

Re: Josh Bruce - Contract watch
500k is below market.
I'm sure Bruce would've been offered closer to 700k over a similar period by rivals.
Good on him and the club for coming to these terms. Speaks volumes of his character and the clubs direction.
And a bit of Boyd perspective required. Bruce is worth half what the dogs are paying him! Hopefully his contract hamstrings them at some stage in the near future (around Stringer or Johanesson's contact negotiation time)

Freo are Saints in 2011 and Essendon are the Saints of the early 80's.

I reckon he can afford to get a haircut now.

Go the Bruce!!!!
Imagine the way we would be talking about this KID (23yo / 50 games) if rather than pinching him from GWS he was taken as a first round draft pick!!!!
We would be calling him the next Roo!
Makes you think about the pressure we are putting on Paddy.
Also: Fantastic that the guys who are going to take us to the future are the ones ready to sign on the dotted line and stay for [reportedly] less money than is offered elsewhere.

Fantastic news. Well done Josh for repaying the faith we took picking him up. You can see though how the salary cap pressure starts cranking up as we get better and better. Although we'll have some oldies on good money retire, some of that is already outside the cap as veterans (as I understand). Half a mill sounds right though especially if he had better offers.

Yes. Go Bruce. Everyone seems to be on board and happy to stay.
Now we need to convince Fyffe to come to us as a free agent at the end of 2017.

Re: Josh Bruce - Contract watch
Excellent news. This guy could be one of the greats especially with Billings, Sinclair, Lonie etc feeding him lace out passes. With our salary cap in great position, moving back to Moorabbin with brand new facilities, a young exciting list that's playing a great brand of football we are going to be a very attractive club for FA over the next few years. Carlisle and Freeman may be the trickle that turns into a flood of players wanting to come to us. Kudos to our administration and coaching staff for turning our prospects around so quickly after the SW/school girls debacles.
Re: Josh Bruce - Contract watch
Great news. I think he respects the saints a lot considering the way his career and haircut have turned around.
