Ok I will try to suggest an incurable skin disease next time I take to twitter bullying Brendan:)

the Adelaide fans do go a bit feral I remember Kim Coster moving from the Dogs to Adelaide he did his knee in his first game and while he was off in the Ambulance the Kick a Vic campaign was running and incensed fans took their frustrations out on the car with vic plates after a loss in the car park smashing it to pieces. It just happened it was kim's who hadn't had time to change them over yet. Good times.

Agree, if its win win for both player and club then its ok.

I have aproblem with the "Ball traitorous bastard" situation, where the ahole ENSURED that the club would get royally screwed..

Did everything right by the Saints and left because he got a better deal.

Fair enough I say.
With all due respect SS. If we are ok to lose BJ under those circumstances, you would have also been ok with players like Barker, Loewe, Riewoldt, Harvey, Lenny, Dal or any other of our champs departing because they got a "better deal".

Most of the above mentioned have been offered bigger $'s but never left. They are all Saints legends. BJ will never be.
Have you ever left a job but your employer wanted you to stay? Football is a business. What free agency has proven is that this so-called club loyalty culture in the AFL isn't quite what it was made out to be.

Your asking that question to the wrong person SS. I got my first job at 18 and am still with the same employer today, 24 years later. I have had opportinities to leave, never for huge cash admittedly, but am happy doing what I do, and living where I live. I don't like change.

Fair question. Just not the perfect person to ask it to.

i acknowledge all of that...i loved the guy...but he is no lenny hayes, trevor barker, stewart loewe or rob harvey...they all did the same...for a lot less money......i will love those guys always......bj is now just another bummer player...he left for the money......and it will come back to bite us on the arse...just like ball did to us...and young kennedy did to the hawks....yeah...i'm bitter....

.everybody still loves lenny....and we always will

whilst very disenchanted with his decision
it is sad he is caught up with the rude and crude twitter behaviour that has also affected Tippett.

Another professional athlete who also goes by the nickname BJ, is to become a free-agent as of today.

BJ Upton of the MLB team the Tampa Bay Rays, most likely played his final game with the team he has been with his entire career.

It seems American sports fans are accepting of the inevitabilty of a player leaving because of free-agency. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?conte ... 3&c_id=mlb
