Ledger was much more prominent this week. Not far off a call up if he can repeat it next week.

Ferguson is very good apart from the occasional brain fade giving goals away.

Gwilt was good, but needs at least another week at this level.

Wilkes was very disappointing, has it all to play for and went missing.

Peake is well and truly past his, will never get another senior game.

Ray is busting his gut to get back. Not sure he's in Scotts plans.

Winmar played his best game for the year, but sat out most of the last quarter.
Still don't understand why we signed Ray and Peake on one year contracts if they aren't in our plans. Don't get me wrong I'm happy that they're not in Waters plans.

Exactly.

The year Collingwood won the premiership, guys like Lockyer, Medhurst, Fraser....weren't they running around in the VFL?

Well I hope they are on minimum wage. I'm guessing no other club wanted them.

I've seen Coleman play 4 games...he's kicked multipli goals in all of them, 15 goals in total.... Nice kick

Dunnell, 4 times, and I've seen him dominate three times... Moves well, great hands... Good player

If he weren't a rookie, he's a mile ahead of some young guys..... Can really play

Dunnell has impressed with too. Reads the game well.

Will benefit with another year in the gym.

Looks to be a natural footballer with quite reasonable skills. Something we lack. Needs to be more consistent though.

Rookies have to wait for a LTI to be able to be upgraded and this bloke's not even a Rookie!

We have no hold over him whatsoever at this point in time.

I was a bit surprised we didn't upgrade any rookie last draft. Curren, Ferguson and Dunnell look half a chance this year if they keep up their form.

PLU COleman is not a St Kilda Listed player- rookie or senior list

he is a Sandringham Listed 23# player- meaning he is playing with arrangement from Sandringham Dragons as an extra,.....
and now part of the VFL academy- along with 19 others from around victoria- including 2 other Sandy players..

Jackson Ferguson is the Saints Listed rookie.- other end of the ground. :)

story from VFL Record
on Myke Cook
www.vfl.com.au | 15
MYKE COOK
IN many ways Myke Cook finding himself at Sandringham this season was a home coming.
After Adelaide Crows delisted him at the end of last season following four seasons with the AFL club, Cook returned home to a club that he’d had ties with during his development years.
Cook grew up in Parkdale, followed the Zebras as he was growing up and played with Sandringham Dragons in the
TAC Cup.
“Being around home and playing for the club that was most local really appealed,” Cook said.
“And, Sandringham has such a rich history that it really was a pretty easy decision to make.”
What also helped is that one of his mates, Michael Lourey also plays with the Zebras and he knew several other players.
Unlike others who find excuses to explain outcomes, Cook refreshingly said he had his chances at the Crows, but was unable to cement a position.
After Adelaide drafted him with selection No 38 at the 2007 NAB AFL Draft, Cook made his AFL debut in 2009, played three games that season, nine the following season and three last year for a grand total of 14.
Cook thought he played consistent football with South Adelaide in the SANFL, but not as dominant as he’d hoped.
He realised that 2011 shaped as a watershed season. Crows coach Neil Craig told him at the start of pre-season that his “head was on the chopping board” and he had to do something special.
“I think I was pretty close to it, but unfortunately I did my ankle with about seven rounds to go when I was in really good form,”
Cook said “I learned a lot over the four years and I’ve taken it into my game this year.
“I’m hoping that if I have a consistently good season that I can get picked up at the end of the year and if not this year then the year after. “I’m going to keep trying to get drafted again.”
Cook is keen to be involved in the VFL representative match against Tasmania at Bellerive Oval later this month, a match that historically throws up players before AFL recruiters.
Already, in the first six rounds, Cook has made his presence felt. The 22-year-old is appreciative of returning to the game style of the VFL. “I like the VFL a fair bit better than the SANFL. There is always a consistent amount of AFL players to match yourself up against,” Cook said.
“It’s always a good challenge and there’s always recruiters out there watching and I’m hoping to be in the VFL team and then play finals with Sandy.”

Would much rather Cook than Coleman. Coleman is slow as treacle.

In the background of many of those highlights, I kept spotting big Wilkesy charging in from nowhere, laying big tackles and creating opportunities.

Not bad for what was meant to be one of his quieter games...

That's what appealed in the Melbourne game for me. Even before he kicked a goal he just worked hard for his team mates. He laid a few Shepherds for Roo and Rhys and chased hard. He adds pressure to the ball carrier. As far as our Rookies go we have some really good talent there. All of the guys we got look like potential players. Minchington, Staley and Dunnell have all had good games for Sandy and Shenton doesn't even need to touch the ball for me to like his style.

nice to see the Sandy links being celebrated and a development path being given.
Sandringham Dragons Update
The Sandringham Dragons continue to sit on top of the TAC Cup ladder after beating the Geelong Falcons by 22 points
on the weekend. In surprisingly nice conditions at Werribee the Dragons jumped out to an early lead and were
able to hold onto that lead for most of the day.
Four bottom age boys made their debuts for on the weekend and all were able to contribute to the win.
38 players have now pulled on the Dragons colours in season 2012.

With a string of development weekends coming up for the Dragons, Xavier Richards will be pushed up to the Zebras
to continue his development. Xavier is a tall key position player with outstanding speed and endurance.
from Sandringham Weekly email.

He didn't appear at all in the Jimmy Highlights. In the others they showed the same mark over and over. Admittedly a couple of goal assists, but he had a very ordinary game on Sunday.
