Will the footy channel be in HD only, or will it be on HD and normal Foxtel.
I already pay enough for it and dont want to fork out for HD as well.

it is a different box, and requires additional cabling hook up

Of course the real kicker will be if we are now forced to pay a monthly fee, for what may have otherwise have been included in our packages, just to pay the wages of one of Australia's biggest self promoters and capitalists
we used to have really good covereage of the AFL, a dedicated chanel lots of talk shows and a continuous loop of games during the week.
That got cut back, and thanks to the alliance with Sky (read: soccer) and the Nine network (read: NRL) the great "aussie" game was an after thought with much reduced airtime.
ok ok the re-introduction of an afl chanel will make it easier to swallow next year, but the cosy alliance with CH7 enemies is a big concern to our game. The Footy Show spends a lot of time taking pot shots at 7, now you will get the head honcho of 9 on pay taking shots as well.
this is a plot of Machiavellian proportions

don't watch movie, sci-fi, 'lifestyle' channels so it'll do me.... small cost to pay to watch The Saints tearing it up live (and hopefully in HD most of the time) next season.
