I'd be excited if it wasn't for the mention of Karl Langdon....
Has he ever got anything right?
Last I heard from him he had Grandpa Simpson leaving the Toothless Ones to go coaching the Tigers, to be confirmed ASAP?
Surprised he hasn't got Clark going to WCE...
It would be a hell of a get - they better not be luring my hopes with Clark and squashing them with Dyson

Agree for a change but it aint happening unless big footy know something for once. Also Sweeney had a terrible attitude but I reckon he could really play. Never saw it though because of his attitude.BigMart wrote:Not really SR
Clarke is an all australian......kpp/ruckman
He is better than
Gilbert......a talented hbf
Armitage......a fringe mid
Is better than
A third rounder........
But by about the same as the gap between clarke and gilbert.....
We would want the deal to happen, therefore would have to make it very appealling to brisbane, who would surely want a lot for an all australian. They would see gilbert as compensation, and armo as a sweetner......armo would be a great replacement for black.....you would think the same for lenny, but obviously not....
I dont reckon ross rates armitage at all.....
You have to understand, sometimes you have to give up players to pick up players....
Name another deal that would land Clarke.....without breaking the golden rule of trading...
Saw sweeney play heaps
A bigger, less talented version of milney..... A medium, lead up fwd, ok at ground level.....never an afl prospect....average at vfl level
Allan murray, barry brooks and ferguson were the diappointing ones......were head and shoulders above vfl standard.......ferg battled his body and confidence.....brooks similar but lacked work ethic, budgie was a bit lazy too....

Well I saw him play as well and you are wrong. He could play and was nothing like Milney but if anything similar to ferguson when he played forward. Was a high leaping forward like Ferg and did quite well at Scorps for the type of player he was. Didnt train hard enough though to be a more running type.BigMart wrote:Saw sweeney play heaps

How is it bad? We lose a HBF not a key position player and an average midfield/ forward type for a KPP who also rucks very well. I reckon our club would take that in a heartbeat.degruch wrote:Trust you to agree to the worst hypothetical trade since the real Russell Greene trade. Sorry BM, but Brisbane would be laughing all the way with a trade like that, especially when they have big guys to take Clark's place...why else would he be looking around?plugger66 wrote:Agree for a change...

I understand what you're saying about giving to get, but losing an integral part of the tightest backline in AFL history, our (current) main inside mid, and a 3rd round pick for a guy who effectively diplaces one of our current players (Kosi, Stanley, Archer), is too heavy a price. They'd win big.

No, I wouldn't do that deal - giving up way too much on the back of 1 or 2 good seasons from ClarkBigMart wrote:Gilbert + Armitage for Clarke and third round pick (in the 50's)
Stanley might also be thought of by Brisbane....

Thought clubs needed to hang onto good in & under mids, you need 7-10 players to be able to rotate thru there. Mids could win you more games than rucks IMO
Would give up 1 of Armitage or Gilbert - and that's if they really want to leave.
Only reason Bris would consider any trade is they know there is interest from GWS & the 2 WA clubs.
And they have rucks in Leuenberger, Broc McCauley and Charman may come back.
No Contract, No contact
Is he that integral that he was the one earmarked to go fwd this season...
He is a hbf..... Who has some real tools...... But also has one key weakness..
Sam Fisher is integral.....
Because you ranked gilbert at #1 you are obviously biased, because no other footy supporter in the country would......

You mean because I disagree with your point? No. Integral, yes, he is an extremely flexible player...matches up on talls, smalls, can play a shut down role and, most importantly, runs out of the backline...except his disposal has been crap this year especially. Can make a cameo up forward, but every time he's moved up there, how crap does our backline look?BigMart wrote:Because you ranked gilbert at #1 you are obviously biased, because no other footy supporter in the country would......
In fact, Gilbert has a crap year, how bad does the team look?
Clark has a crap year, has it made a difference? No. The fact is, he's a good get at the right price, but he hasn't been able to back his old form. He HAS been a very good player in a bad team, if he'd continued to be a top player, you'd probably be right...but then, the price would be too high, as the losses would outweigh the gain.

I think it was Justine Clarke. There was a rumour she was leaving play school and going to Hi 5. It was never going to happen though as she is to old and jst signed a one year contract at play school.degruch wrote:Wasn't it a rumour last year too? I seem to remember Clark's name popping up during the trading frenzy...maybe it was another Clark(e)?
