The Move to Seaford

Not for one moment do I even think the players have even mentioned this as a problem but it has just been brought up by some in media however there may be something slightly, and I mean slightly, in it. When they trained at Moorabbin and had 2 sessions, players would often go home between sessions to get a break from each other and to get a break from the club. It was easy to do because most lived within 10 minutes of the ground. Now that most live over 30 minutes away it is hardly practical to go home and then come back again. Who knows it may be having a slight affect but there is bigger problems than Seaford at the moment.

We're really grasping at straws if we are blaming the relocation for our current form.
Perhaps some of those who don't like the travel could fall in the old/slow category, and we could do them a favour by off-loading them at the end of the season.
Australia...... Live it like we stole it....... Because we did.

That just what I was thinking. If ever I was forced to go back to Melb. (no offence cant stand the cold) thats where I would buy. Good enough for R.HARVEY.Ice Wolf wrote:If the drive from Brighton is too much for them, might i suggest they think about buying houses on Olivers Hill, or in Mt Eliza, Mount Martha ect.
Plenty of properties that are just as good or better than those in Brighton.
Some of the country boys might even think about buying large properties in Mooroduc, Tyabb, Hastings etc.
Lots of great Golf Course down that way for those that are that way inclined.

Nice real estate you mention, but not the same as Brighton, Hampton, Sandy or Black Rock.Ice Wolf wrote:If the drive from Brighton is too much for them, might i suggest they think about buying houses on Olivers Hill, or in Mt Eliza, Mount Martha ect.

Can't argue with the rural acres, but the real golf courses are in the sand belt.
Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell

I'm sure the Peninsula golf courses would be good enough for blokes whose main commitment is playing footy with the Saints!Bernard Shakey wrote:Nice real estate you mention, but not the same as Brighton, Hampton, Sandy or Black Rock.Ice Wolf wrote:If the drive from Brighton is too much for them, might i suggest they think about buying houses on Olivers Hill, or in Mt Eliza, Mount Martha ect.

Those courses should be more than adequate for them unless they're secretly planning to get their pro tickets.

If all the players are flat mentally following the last two seasons and the failed GFs then surely that situation would be made worse if they were once again fronting up to the tired Moorabbin facilities.
Seaford should be embraced by the team and used as a catalyst to launch a fresh attact on a premiership.

I'm well aware it's not the Mirage Resort however that is irrelevant to my comment. I was referring to the undoubted improved training facilities and the need for a fresh start after 2 successive GF losses.
That still applies even if those improved facilities are located in a desolate area surrounded by factories.
Imagine facing another season based at Moorabbin, with its run down facilities, after losing consecutive GFs. Not only are the facilities poor but the place would simply remind you of those two failed campaigns.
In the circumstances we find ourselves in change should be embraced.
