Interesting (from 10 things Robbo dislikes list)...
5. 'Bubble' breakers

Ross Lyon has opened the doors but don't know if he'd like Jason Gram declaring kids should be brought into the team, as he did on SEN post-game Friday. Gram's right and everyone agrees. But coaching decisions should be left to the coach. The Saints requested audio of the interview and were given it, and on Saturday night, Gram said on Twitter: ''Don't u hate it when u say something and it comes out the wrong way.'' Admire his honesty, don't know if the Saints did.
Unrelated, but also interesting!....
2. 'St Kilda schoolgirl' at the footy

Not so much 'don't like', but fearful. She was escorted around the boundary line 20 minutes after the game on Friday by police after a stink in the crowd. And, yes, it's all on video. Hope this is not going to be a regular at Saints matches.

Ha, classic. I tend to agree, and in the back of my mind I wondered if I'd be surprised to see Gram benched this weekend, and not just because he played poorly on the weekend.

My advice to RL - get the team to move the ball a lot more quickly, none of the sideways crab football. Roo needs to be leading deep into the forward line, not up the ground- make the runners deliver it long, puts the backs under presuure.

It wouldn't be the first time he's been sidelined for disciplinary reasons.

True. And his comments on the weekend spoke volumes about his own mindset, and totally diminished the efforts of guys like Hayes, Armo, Roo, Big Mac, BJ, who all worked hard...at the very least, he needs a clip behaind the ear from the coach and leadership group. I get the feeling this has happened already.

I wish I could be there when RL says the words "Gramy you're dropped" at training this week.

This bloke hasn't been worth a cold pie since 2009 GF!!!

Maybe he should just hand him the clipboard and get him to read the team out....

I admire Grammy's honesty, but I think his comments reflect more on himself than the rest of the team. Having said that, though, Goddard did seem like he was depressed from the losing GF's on Before the Game.

"All those playing this week step forward. Not so fast Jason"...

...I think a text message saying 'dropped' would be far more meaningful.

I find this line of argument very puzzling.
What part of what he said was incorrect?
Are we upset because HE said it or that anyone on the so called "inside" said something?
He needs to stand up just like the other 22 that take the field, but at least he can look them in the eye and say he played well when it counted.
Can they?

I loved his comments and for mine he was SPOT ON.

Yes, I think our reactions to his comments say far more about us than the actual comments say about him.

Or something like that :?

Simple, the part where he said 'WE' instead of 'I'. That's the cruxt of the issue...and the whole forum agrees. :P

Ditto.... Im sure he's also refering to himself, and he'd know this deep down...

Im also quite sure he's as disappointed as anyone with the results so far and his output... Im glad he said what he said, and I think he, and the team, will be better for it...

Jason had something like 18 possies in the first quarter then dropped away sharply. He may have been spent, if any one can claim they were trying to carry the team for one quarter it is him, a bit more assistance and the game may have been over. At least he is shaking the tree, we had to many passengers.

He is the new Zac Dawson, mostly it seems from last season where he was injured for a large part. By the way Dawson has been very good this year under more pressure than most of last season.

It may give some a little thrill at being able to take a peak behind the curtain, but he had no place making those sort of comments in public... can only put noses out of joint internally, and give ammunition to detractors and opponents. Not a hanging offence, but not at all constructive to do it in the media.

Neatest correct entry.

If Grammy needs any motivation, he could have gone home and looked at his photo of Leigh Brown holding up his premiership medallion. Or if he needs something stronger, there's always a picture of Leon Davis...

...I know, it's having a poke at Gram whilst he's down, but his lack of enthusiasm does not speak for the whole team, who should be justifiably pissed he rasied HIS issues on radio on their behalf. Guys looking to play out their last year! How'd you feel if you were Blake, Hayes, Baker, Milne, etc. hearing that come from a team mate?

As a person, I understand there's bitter disappointment, but nows the time to atone. As a supporter, I'm not really in the mood for sympathy, after that GF2 performance.

Maybe he can use the endless badgering he'll get on the field from now on to inspire him...I'm sure the others could do without it.

Gram was clear BOG at quater time with 13 possies and he had generated much of our run. He was in fact on fire. If we had kicked straight in that first quarter, we could easily of buried the Tigers then and there.

However we didn't.

And perhaps when Gram went on radio he forgot that he did stuff all for the last three quarters and noticably squibbed a contest in Richmond's forward half in the last.

Having said that - I agree the honesty is refreshing and I also concur that he will have got a clip from the leadership group and the coach.

+1 Maverick.

About time someone told it as it is instead of this idiotic bubble BS.

Facts are the Saints have squibbed it in R1 and R2.

In both games, arguably the oppos best player was sidelined by qtr time, yet they still couldn't win.

Both games the Saints were up by at least three goals and still couldn't win.

Gram spoke the truth, and the thruth is that the forum doesn't like it.

Stiff. This is what has happened to the team and their mindset. We look very ordinary and our prospects look very shabby for 2011.

Live with it.

Lance or James??

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

You'll have to forgive us, JB. We all missed the part of the interview where Gram named the players looking to play out their last year.

In many respects, it is kind of refreshing to actually have a couple of players speak their minds for a change. Not the usual one week at a time meaningless drivel that lets the Sun turn a quid.

Boomer Harvey had a crack at a couple of players this weekend after the Roos pathetic showing against the Filth. Seems to be copping a bit of flack for it as well? Really all he was doing was being honest.

If Lenny Hayes came out and blasted a couple of the crap efforts that we have had in the past two weeks, I dont think anyone on here could question it. That bloke has earned about as much respect by his actions as anyone. So has Boomer Harvey, playing in pretty average sides for most of his career.

The think is with Jason Gram, is that he was a bloody culprit. A prime example of what he was actually talking about. You can only hope that in his mind's eye he can see himself running around the ball in the last quarter and know that it just isnt good enough.

Would be nice to not have to use the bulls*** filter after a game.

Coulda Shoulda Woulda. Another missed opportunity. It all means nothing if we convert that shot. Lay that tackle and hit that f****** target.
Back to basics. We are failing at the level that we are used to. I'll be arsed if I'll live though another decade like the 80's and cop it.

Boomer has a mandate by virtue of being captain and a consistent performer. Lenny would get away with it for similar reasons. Jason Gram is neither, and not only is it not his business to speculate on his teammates' motivations, but it is simply not a credible statement. Who really believes that players are being dishonest with the club but confiding in Grammy?

The club would be looking for a please explain, and any critical observer should do the same.

I think being 27, playing 120 odd games, a runner up best and farest.....means he is probably senior enough and good enough to critisise a poor effort?.....
