Good call - could be a big factor in games this year.

Stanley becomes more physically and mentally mature shows alot and holds a regular spot in a key position by round 14.

Good call/Bad call
bad call - he's still a long way from prime time. he needs to build up more and get more footy smarts about him. mid-year next year at the earliest. if we were melbourne then he'd be playing every week, but i reckon he's not even as good as jack watts yet.

alistair smith will be the most important kid on the list this year. GCBC?

BAD CALL

Scary call. If Alistair Smith becomes the most important player on our list then we're in bad bad trouble. Way too far away to make a call like that.

Raph Clarke's body can't hold up to the rigours of an AFL season. GCBC?

Good call (unfortunately) - shows he wants the ball, but has shown in warm up games he still has "kosi like" awareness. I wish him a full season but i just dont think he physically can make it through without an injury or two.

Stevie Baker will try his best not to get a suspension, but he will fall into the trap again and cop another lenghthy stint.

Teams with more stars will win more often with the new sub rule? GC/BC

Bad call, over simplifying the game call. If that's the case we should win more often and Collingwood won't but I can't see that happening as our bottom six is nowhere as good as theirs but our top 6 are bigger stars. Dane Swan is on the park alot less than most of our mids but just keeps on racking up the possessions regardless. He will simply adjust to be on the park a few more minutes a quarter and get more of it.
A champion team will always beat a team of champions.

Following that theme...
With the new sub rule, St Kilda's goal-shy mids should rest more in the forward line this year - GCBC?

good call. great call. should have been done sooner call. montagna should be a half forward flanker.

good call/bad call: carlton could be circling ross lyon to coach them in 2012.

Good Call

Hope he doesn't go anywhere call. Ross Lyon could do well with that list and you'd be mad not to have a dip at him if you could get him.

Jason Gram's disposal by foot is not good enough for the modern game. GCBC?

Good Call: In 2006 he had a breakout season in where he was a damaging long kick and accurate, ever since his groin troubles he has been one of the worst kicks in our team, disposal inside 50 is woefull and basic ground kicking is all over the place, lets hope he can get 100% fit again

GC/BC: If we dont win another one this year, as in get knocked out in a prelim or something, we should chase Mick Malthouse?? (I know this is out of the blue)

Good call, Gram's disposal is worse than Geary's and both IMO are not good enough for the modern game!!

McQualter to finish in the top three in the B&F for Sandy as his time will be very limited on the big stage in 2011. GCBC

bad call. he played plenty of pre-season minutes, most in the midfield, which suggests to me that ross is committed to giving him a few more chances.

ryan gamble will be inconsistent. after a few games in a row of ten touches, not many goals, posters on saintsational will be calling for his head. good call or bad call?

Bad Call

Mini has been playing a role that will be made void by Gilbert moving forward, and he is actually a very talented and instinctive midfielder and will prove many wrong on here.

Robert Harvey has aspirations to join Hird, Buckley and Voss in a senior coaching role.

Bad Call: He is what we are missing, he might not be as good as a ryan okeffe but he is wat we need and i truly believe he will kick 35 plus goals and with Roo, Kosi, Milney, schnieder and Gilbert our forward line suddenly looks formidable

Bad call, Malthouse is too old and does not want to coach anymore. Lyon is the prototype of a modern coach and we should be delighted that we have him, plenty of other teams would have him in a heartbeat. Lets hope he is still here in 5 years time. His game plan is taxing but it produces results.

GC/BC : We will average 2 goals more a game this year and play a more attractive free-flowing style than 2010.

Bad call.....sort of....

I think early on in the season we will attempt to open games up and be more free flowing, but watch us get blown out a couple of times and you'll see us go back to our tried and true game plan.

Our game plan is suited to finals football, so as we get closer to the business end we will lift the intencity and pressure and go back to "Saints Footy"

Good/Bad Call:
Kosi will play this weekend, and his "injury" will just prove to be smoke and mirrors so opponents couldn't plan for his vastly different role rucking in the back half and playing across half back, taking marks from opposition kicks, similar to Gilbert.

Bad Call

Wishful call, overrate his ability call

I don't think Ross Lyon is a huge game player RE team selections but he's also not 1 to really tinker with the side to drastically.
Gilbo's move forward was sounded very and made on the assumption that their are plenty of players there to play his role in the backline

Further to that, I don't think Kosi has the mobility to play back anymore

Saints will win the premiership this season GCBC?

good calll, optimistic call. Will be thereabouts and could but would be emotionally exhausting. Am I alone in just happy with week to week wins. Cannot do the future focus on finals anymore.

Someone will get caught betting on a game they were playing in and the whole concept of sports betting in football will explodee as a issue. Good call or bad call?

Good Call

Inevitable Call. If was a St.Kilda player and I knew that Roo was going to be a late withdrawal, and that Dal and Monty were both really really sore and that there's a good chance we'd lose with good odds... I'd place a bet through a friend in a second.

Brendon Goddard should play as a forward

Good call, could happen call, we saw it last year call.

Really worried that Roo will have both Taylor and Scarlett hanging on him Friday night if we don't have someone keeping them accountable. I mentioned that in a thread recently, at least while Kosi and/or Gardiner are absent we may see him forward.

Robert Harvey has aspirations to join Hird, Buckley and Voss in a senior coaching role.

good call. genuine reality in todays footy. hes a very good coach. hes a native of the inner nth and a professional career coach. would be a really good match and the money will be large. if the blues under-perform it will become a talking point in the media this year for sure. if the blues are flying it will be moot because they will re-sign ratts.

steele sidebootom was only 19 last year and had a serious impact on a premiership. one of cripps or ledger needs to do a sidebottom for the saints to mounta challenge. GCBC.

Steele Sidebottom new recruits- Bad call, improvement can come from anyone on our list to challenge, I don't care if it's Will Johnson or Al Smith, Armo anyone we just need a boost.

Great milestones of my life ...

I remember where I was when I heard Robert Kennedy was dead
I remember where I was when I heard Gough had been sacked
I remember where I was when I heard Lennin had been shot
I remember where I was when I saw that (twin) tower fall
AND
I remember where I was when I first heard a commentator use the phrase "Misty Hymen"

Steele Sidebottom is not quite in the same league as Misty, but than again what name could ever match that?

So Good Call Gringo.

Has Greg "right" Westaway been taking elocution lessons, right, to reduce his number of "rights", right? GCBC?
