Too many 6 day breaks, not enough games at the G and too many interstate games.

With that said the Saints should still be in the top 4.

I am glad the AFL calls it a fixture, it has ceased to be a draw, it is concocted to meet commercial interests.

You're right 9 it is, I included rd 22.

Out of those 9 6 day breaks, in 4 our oppostion has a 7+ day break.

And suprise suprise, Essendon have an 8 day break, compared to our 6.

This has happened nearly every year for the last 5 years.

Some of those six day breaks are shocking. After a six day beak to AAMI we have another coming back for the bulldogs. 2 six day breaks following a Subi trip.

The only thing I can say I like about the draw is that the teams we play seem in our favour and that I get a chance to see the Saints play here twice.

In 2006 we got 11 six day breaks.

The club complained.
The AFL virtually apologised and said they would put checks in their system to make sure that never happened again.

In 2007 it dropped to 7 six day breaks,
Then 5 in 2008
Then 6 in 2009

Now it has ballooned out to 9 or possibly 10

What is going on?

as an 11 game member traveling from 300km away - this would have to be the worst home draw ever

3 sunday twilight
1 monday nite,
3 friday nite,
1 early start sunday.
2 saturday night ,
1 saturDAY home game (my preference)

don't like banks of home games together ie round 2,3 4 - whatever happened to 1 home, 1 away?

haven't really looked at away game except the Perth ones :D 8-)

Beg to differ

No complaints about the draw, 7 Friday nights is a great result

Strictly speaking noon is noon!!!

The M is for Meridian..and time is either Ante (before) or Post ( past) noon. Therefore non is noon and cannot be 12 hopurs prior or past itself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

However the age of digital clocks & sloppy enginnering has meant that common incorrect usage has made 12 PM = noon.

As common usage tends to redefine what is "accepted". Noon is now 12 PM as digital clocks show that as the time.

Another example of "common " incorrect usage is "dialling" your number on your mobile phone!!!

Surprising how the AFL puts in checks and changes rules only after St Kilda has been screwed first.

Never a case of sorry and we will reverse it immediately.

What is going on - Demetriou did not like seeing St Kilda relatively successful in 2009.

What does a virtual apology look like?
We would apologise if wasn't St Kilda, but seeing it is St Kilda the apology wont really exist.

As long as we play our last game at the G on the last day in September... nothing else matters. :D

I don't see how playing the "bad teams" twice is a good thing.
Personally I would rather play Geelong, Hawthorn and the dogs twice over playing some of the bottom sides twice.

You can't get a bench mark on how we are going playing crappy sides all the time. IMO better to play the harder sides more often. If you lose to them during the season you know where to improve.
Got buckleys chance of knowing if you don't play them enough.

Like I said its my opinion.

I am excited to stay at St Kilda and this is a great result for the Club and all our fans. I’m proud to be part of the Saints and am pleased to be playing football with the Clubâ€

we should have asked for a few more. we need exposure to the elements.

our lack of games there in 2009 arguably cost us.

Yes I believe so...

IMO we want a draw that gives us the best chance of finishing in the top 4, and also preparing us to play in and win a FLAG.

9 six day breaks.
4 six day breaks where our opposition has a day extra break.
Only 1 game where we have the above advantage (against the Bombers...about time)
6 interstate trips.
And only 2 MCG games...

doesn't really help us IMO.

While Friday games are good for the bottom line, they always equate to 6 day breaks.

And the old gem of playing sides outside of the top 8. Doesn't really mean much as sides improve and decline in form, look at who actually beat us this year.

All that said if we can emulate this years performance for the H/A season next year with that draw I wreckon we'll be doing ok.

well there was that, too, but you can make a case that the two are linked.

we played much of our football indoors and sheltered from the elements. then struggled to convert on a larger ground in the wind and rain when it counted.

but just the one match at the mcg before the finals wasn't the preparation that we needed. we should have asked for more matches there this season.
