I've stood in AFL members before. Not that hard to see at all. If you stand in front of the main bar at M21 they are only about 2 - 3 deep there.

K Rudd will be in the MCC Ace. As if they'll put dignatries out with the plebs. THere's always plenty of space in the MCC so little wonder...

Saints66au. Are you an AFL member? If not how did you get standing room tix in the AFL reserve. The AFL reserve sold out within 2 hours of going on sale for non competing members.

Can someone give me some advice please !

Background
Under the all-in/ all-out ballot policy we (3 adults and 2 concessions) decided to put in two applications instead of one to maximise our chances of getting some tickets.
Both applications were successful but we have wound up with 5 standing room tickets.

Problem
3 of them (one adult + 2 concessions) are in M12 wich is in the Ponsford.
The other 2 adults are in M30 which is in the Southern.
Obviously we would prefer to stand together, and if we were all in the same stand that would be easy as there is no way of enforcing where you stand.

Question?
But given we are in different Stands, is there a way of standing together?
For example can I successfully scan a Southern Stand standing room ticket through a Ponsford stand turnstile?
Or does a pass-out distinguish which Stand you came from?

No Im not...these is the area allocated to our group in the SC Ballot. Please dont tell me that other neutral/Cats AFL members can stand there as well? Ill be mighty pyssed off if that area isnt 110% Sainter

Enrico...firstly you got your stands mixed up..M12 is in the GSS..but I hear your point

AFAIK they DO enforce what section you stand in..otherwise you'd have a gazillion people on the Wing and noone behind the goals

I stood in 1997. Couldn't see very well! Get there early if you have to stand.

So you are definitely saying that the turnstile system will REJECT a Southern Stand standing room ticket from trying to access the Ponsford and vica versa ?

Having done standing room a few times in the 80's and with the weather reported to be cold and windy my advice is too dress warm.
If the GSS is like the old Southern Stand, then that wind can get really cold.

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

Dunno about that but I think they have attendants making sure that you stand in the correct bays

First abvice is that M12 is in the Southern Stand and M30 in the Ponsford.

Having sorted that, you won't get into the Southern with Ponsford tickets and vice versa.

Seems to me more than 5% of Social Club Members have ended up with standing room tickets.

In my experience Standing is not a dry area.

I'm not sure about the MCC Members, though.

Are their any dry areas anymore?
