Port's hand could be forced though because Burgoyne could easily just sit out and wait for Melbourne, Bailey came from Port plus Melbourne has a good smattering of 'brothers'.

Melbourne could appeal because they should be going OK in 3 to 4 years and he'll only be 29 or 30.

Ask a PA support if they would accept a trade involving Stanley. 99% of responses would be, "Who the f*** are you talking about?"

In fact, Stanley probably has little to no trade value what-so-ever. So the argument would never exist anyways.

Burgoyne is a gun - But you wouldn't want him in your team. Laughable. Do you actually watch any football played by non-Stkilda teams?
You didn't answer my first question. Who would you push out for Burgoyne?

I'm not knocking Burgoyne - he is a gun - but we have plenty of quality midfielders already to put pressure on the salary cap.

To suggest ruck stocks aren't a premium commodity - with the history of this club - is laughable.

In a year when the likes of Armitage and Steven can barely get a game, and Ball struggles to hold his spot... to talk about players not getting a game is a very convenient argument.

At another club it would be a diffent story.

Tom Bellchambers, who?

No offence InkerSaint but Burgoyne would be better than Ray and eddy who are currently in our line up in the midfield.

also with the Gold Coast and west sydeny coming in and taking up all the draft picks it would be wise to go for a couple of players that are proven guns who around the 25 yr old mark...i believe that we have another 4 or 5 years left in the premiership window left with most of our core players being around 25...after that the draft would return to normal and we can start the rebuilding phase....we would still have kids like armo steven and co playing as injuries suspension and form will force players in and out of the side....

I think that over this entire thread, our entire depth has been potentially traded away....

The Age reports this morn we ain't even in Burgoyne's shortlist - thank christ I say, BTW.

Yet another 'hot SEN scoop' falls flat...

Fair dinkum ,talk about being blind , the few of you who want to trade Stanley must have a lot have a lot of vision . Gards and King have been great but King hasnt got long to go and Gardi does have a history with injuries .
Burgoyne is a gun no doubt but he was only able to play 9 games this year ,(injuries) and you want to get rid of a guy who i consider to be a future star , he is only 19 in his first season and did a damn good job i think and im betting he will be in the seniors in 2011 .

there is a real "grass is greener " syndrome around here...personally..i think a lot of poster don't just look at the grass over the fence, they smoke it was well......stanley will be a gun and saints officials aren't stupid ...so there is no way he will be traded....

I'm sure he has only nominated the Dees so Port will trade him to the Hawks for peanuts. The threat of losing him for nothing would have Port officials already loosening their belts, ready to assume the position....

To not consider a trade with Stanley for Burgoyne is completely mad.

If a player that was pick 47, played no senior games and only in his first season isn't tradable....I ask - Who is?

I agree, Stanley is looking promising - But would be of zero trade value in the real world, yet most on here think he is worth more than a proven gun who is in his prime. Ridiculous.

And stinger - You would undoubtedly know that there isn't a 'grass is greener syndrome' on this site. Most on here don't even know there is grass on any other side....let alone take the time to actually watch it.

Port won't take Stanley.

Somebody will gave away their first two picks to get him.

Whoever does will have a fantastic deal.

He's got five years of terrific footy in him PLUS another two years of good service when he finishes as a forward.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Burgoyne has only mentioned three Victorian Clubs because those Clubs are not in the finals...

Who knows if our Club can offer something after the season has ended

I would love to get him to our Club depending on what Port want...

We will just have to wait and see

Why has Stanley's name even been mentioned. Have the club said they will let him go? Why not mention Zac or Gram or Loewe or Baldock because they have much chance as going to Port as Stanley. We arent Burgoyne and they arent getting Stanley.

Nope.

I wouldn't be surprised if Melbourne get him for a bargain price considering they have the first pick in the pre-season draft.

Might get away with pick 18 and a player.

Actually you gotta question a player who is vice captain at a club and quits when they are going through a rough patch to follow an adolescent whim of playing in melbourne.

Not sure he fits our current ethos. Talented...no doubt but so was Cousins.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

As a strong supporter of the GT thread, I take offence at this comment.

The thread has so far delivered 28 pages of unsurpassed................(searches for the right word)
