The number 35 doesn't seem as sacred as l thought it might as it has been somewhat... tainted. Now, the number 1 on the otherhand, worn by the late great & loyal (remember strength through LOYALTY) Trevor Barker is truly the unchallenged Holy Grail number of the Saints.[/u]

Frankie served that jumper wonderfully, just as Jason Gram is now.

get grip, then get a clue.

Harvs played nearly 400 games for ST KILDA, yet you say he aint LOYAL.

Nuts!

Only fans and boards are loyal....for everyone else it is a job.

......and we are only loyal to those players while they are wearing the jumper. That's footy, fact of life....to pretend otherwise is delusional.

& You call going to Carlton to help plot against St.kilda loyal? If one needs to get a grip, l'm afraid it may be you. lt's not hard to play the game you love & have buckets of money thrown at you. The real test of character comes post career, the time to give something back. Nathan Burke is a testament to our motto. Champion player, Great bloke, played a record number of games for us & now he is striving to get ST.KILDA an elusive premiership. (not Carlton) Now there's a TRUE Saint!
- I still believe in loyalty.

Burkie was interviewed by Geelong for an assistant coaching position after he retired.

Where does that leave him?

unbelievable...

Harvey started and finished at the club, staying longer and playing as hard and as fair and as inspiring as any other player in the clubs history!

May he win a premiership in any way, with any club. Hopefully upon his return.

He needed a break from the club and the players so he can freshen up, get another perspective on footy. Its no biggy he doing what he needs to do and good on him.

Now if that so called traitor Harves has anything to do with a Carlton flag then i will be peeeed right off lol, but good on him for wanting to learn more about footy than than just whats going on at the St Kilda FC.

He will be back for sure and one day and i say he will coach if he showes he is any good at it.

Harvey = Carlton now but i still love the guy to death (ummm not in a physical way  ) for what hes done for our club.

8-)

On the Saints board
but according to some on this thread, he may as well be a traitor-scum and not LOYAL for even considering an interview with another club.

Having played 300+ games for St Kilda instantly becomes irrelevant.

ln the end, Burkey knew where his heart was. And it was'nt Geelong (or Carlton) A true Saint who, post career, is giving back & contributing into developing OUR club & OUR players. Not splashed all over the papers in an 'In your face' fashion wearing enemy colours striving to get THEM another piece of silver wear.

So, the way you see it, Nicky Winmar was not loyal...

Danny Frawley was not loyal...

Our only premership coach was not loyal...

Jason Cripps (assisting at Port Adelaide) is not loyal..

Heck, I could name heaps of players.....

So, in your opinion, a player has to remain at the Saints for life for him to be deemed as "Loyal"???...

Nice to hear that post playing career, former Hawk champion Shane
Crawford will be there supporting his beloved Hawks from round 1 next year.

Stop worrying about Harvs being at Carlton. Other greats have gone to other clubs. Ratten went to Melbourne and now look, he is senior coach. He will be back, we are glad to have him for a while, hope our young kids learn heaps from him, he was the one player that other club supporters admired. Must say that he looks good in navy blue.

You're right kezza, l'm just going to move on & accept that Harv's wasn't the man I thought he was. I have to keep in mind that the club will always be bigger than any player.

You wanker, the only reason he wasn't a Geelong assistant is that he didn't get the job.

Perhaps you should move on and support another club, one where EVERY SINGLE EX-PLAYER stays exclusively with that club forever.

...oh, and by the way, the club is much, much bigger than you, my friend!

Good luck and please let me know which club it is.

I'm not loyal.

I once worked for IGA, I got drafted by Safeway.

IGA removed me from the "Night Packing Hall of Fame".
