Koschitzke's second-quarter clash with Michael Osborne during the Saints' thrilling come-from-behind win over the third-placed Hawks on Saturday night was ruled as reckless conduct, low impact and high contact.

The charge was worth just 125 points meaning Koschitzke could have escaped with a reprimand by pleading guilty but his points tally rose because of a previous striking offence against Hawthorn ruckman Robert Campbell in the corresponding game in the same round of last season.

Unluckily for Koschitzke, the points carried over from that suspension - a total of 68.75 - would have been removed from his record after the completion of Saturday night's game because they only carry over for 12 months from the time of the original offence.

And it was those carry over points which meant Koschitzke was offered a one-match ban by the match review panel rather than a reprimand.

Is it only me that thinks the club are soft when it comes to challenging these decisions?

no point challenging them as your club and my club don't win challenges even when you see other clubs get away with the same sort of thing the tribunal will stick their guns unless you are very very lucky
