I've accepted the status quo - even the lop sided draws.
Really - looks like we've got 3 years to win 3 flags, cos after that, no vic team will win a flag for decades... probably after amalgamations.
And who'd wanna watch a diluted comp, with LESS chance of winning a flag. Not me. 2010 - not long away.
To the board.. reject this idea.
Actually the board should get the members to vote on it.

After all these new rules and ideas, watching the Members Highlights DVD, the only thing that has really changed for the better is the state of the surfaces.
I do like the national comp now, and the good surfaces, however if the AFL devalues footy in Vic much more they'll have killed the goose that laid this golden egg we call Footy.

Sums it up perfectly!
Yes, I am sure that the AFL is monitoring this site and such discussion will play a large roll in awarding a new license.
Demetriou's press conference after announcing the new Gold Coast License:
"Yes, we underwent extensive consultation with our most important stakeholders, the internet forum fans, and the overwhelming sentiment was that although they didn't want the new license created, they would accept it. Accordingly we bypassed consulting with AFL clubs etc, and alloted the license. Thankyou".
Wow some people don't really think before they post...

I'm also against the addition of 2 new interstate teams...
but probably for a different reason than most.
Ask yourself...
Who do you like to watch the Saints play against the most?
Who do you least like to play/watch?
Ignoring factors, such as likelihood of winning / different game plans etc....
I can quite honestly say I'd prefer to watch the saints play against other Victorian Teams rather than interestate teams.
In fact... i have next to no interest in any of the interestate teams & would much rather watch a Saints vs 'victorian team' match.
Why?
Greater rivalry, history etc etc...
Plus can have something to rub in mates faces when saints come out on top.
Perhaps, i'm being a little shortsighted in my views here, but...
If 2 more interstate teams come in and we end up playing less home games against Victorian teams, i'd be quite disappointed.
Especially, if the number of rounds were to be revised down as speculated (to 17?)
Does anybody here get my point?
I Just don't think i'd be as passionate against the West Sydney whatever...
In my opinon, the current AFL board is too interested in creating history, rather than embarassing it.
