Would you like me to separate my statements into paragraphs? It's an internet forum you should be happy I use correct spelling and (mostly) grammar.homework wrote:Yeah. But you said he was like Powelly " he can play down back"

I agree that our delivery forward was indirect and slow last year.plugger66 wrote:That was due to the poor form because of various reasons of the onballers. It causes the forwards to get ball too slowly and you get a poor kick into the forward line.bigcarl wrote:let's hope we don't underestimate actually putting a score on the board like we did last yearplugger66 wrote:Any way it will not be the forwards that win you the game but the onballers as in 2004 when they were at their best.
chipalotto clearly didn't work and, in a team that has many good marking options, swift, long and direct delivery forward is vital.
we were much improved in the second part of 2007.
but that is only part of the equation.
in 2004 riewoldt had more help across half-forward. we didn't direct almost every move forward at him.
hamill, until injured, provided an alternative physical target.
these stats, pinched from another thread, show just how alarmingly reliant we were on riewoldt across half forward last year.
2004 St Kilda forward line (with goals in brackets)
HF: Hamill (27), Riewoldt (67), Guerra (29)
F: Milne (46), Gehrig (103), Koschitzke (20)
2007 St Kilda forward line
HF: Fiora (12), Riewoldt (42), X.Clarke (10)
F: Milne (32), Gehrig (59), Koschitzke (26)
i half suspect that geelong based the multi-pronged attack that helped it to a premiership in 2007 on the st kilda set-up that gave it a few decent beltings in 2004
