There were numerous other Foster's Cup and Ansett Cup pre-season matches held there during the 1990's. The largest crowd for any of these matches was over 19,300 in 1996 for a Hydro Challenge pre-season practice match between the previous season's Grand Finalists, Carlton and Geelong which was won by Carlton.

cheers mate, was at the Kangas game, no one at the ground gave us a chance but we won it. Met some of the players after the game too and there was free chocolate pura milk going round, good times. Gotta laugh at 'Tim Watson's short career as an AFL coach is gaining momentum' though

but I'm certain at some point we played the Tigers there, must have been a while ago as I would have only been 4 or 5 and didn't have a team yet. Dad took me along trying to get me to go for the Tigers (his team before the Crows) but I ended up going for the mighty saints thank god. At least I think that's what happened, I'm beginning to think it was all a dream! If anyone remembers, please tell me I'm not insane.

The answer to my question was that the official score was wrong.
The Carlton score was one point light.
It should be 12.12 not 12.11 as you will find in every official record prior to last year.
Mistake was picked up by Sooky-Boy's son last year.

Final score of 1948 match is now "official"
The "all clear" has finally been received for a match played 59 years ago on the King's Birthday Monday of June 14th at Princes Park, when we all believed that Carlton 12.11-83 had beaten St Kilda 7.18-60.

During a recent search, Richmond historian Rhett Bartlett noticed a small paragraph in the Football Record of the following week carried a note from Carlton secretary Harry Bell that a behind had been scored in Round 9 by Carlton after the bell which had not been noted by any of the newspapers reporting the match.

The Football Record changed their scores to 12.12-84 and the calculation of the ladder in the League publication for the balance of that season was similarly updated affecting both Carlton (for points) and St Kilda (against). At the end of the season, Carlton's points kicked *for* were 249 goals, 275 behinds, 1769 points, while the points *against* tally for St Kilda were 263.301-1879.

However in all publications since, even "Every Game Ever Played" has perpetuated the final score of 12.11-83.

The League has now made Carlton's 12.12-84 official for Round 9 of 1948.

Looks like the answer is Jason Blake.
136 games and no votes.

How did he not get votes in that blinder of a game he played against Hawthorn last (2008) season ?
Didn't he kick 4 goals in the third quarter and turned the whole game around !!!!!!!!!!

I can't find the list now but The Blake could go to the top of the all time list which is led by Ross Henshaw.

But there are a couple of current players ahead of him. Shannon Watt and Ryan Hargreave.

John Manzie also played over 100 games without scoring a vote as did some guy from the '50s who's name I can't remember.

Go ahead Enrico, something from the '70s onwards would be good.

The closest I can think of is Olarenshaw, but that was only two clubs and I'm sure he played a couple of games with at least one of them.

Then went to Brisbane - 0 games
Then went to Sydney - 0 games
Then went to Collingwood - 0 games
Then retired in 2000.

SIMON HAWKING after playing 60 games between 1993-96 with Fitzroy was one of eight players who went to Brisbane after the merger. He failed to play another game.

Dogged by injury, he did not play with Brisbane in 1997 or with Sydney where he was traded in 1998. He received another chance when taken by Collingwood in 2000 but failed to meet match fitness, completing a hat trick of no games with three clubs.

When he retired, Hawking joked that it wasn’t worth having a press conference as no one would turn up.
