Re: Brandon white
Looking at his highlights package, kid can seriously kick the ball! Massive boot and clean disposal. You can tell he's a natural footballer.Has a bit of toe on him as well and looks good overhead. Me likey.

Re: Brandon white
I think in the next few years we'll see Webster acres and gilbert running through the middle more. That was actually the plan for Roberton this year, but Gilbert was more successful. Also I reckon it was an area we were a little light on. Look at the doggies, they have so many options coming out of the back, and boy can White kick a footy, take a look at his highlights. I know they only include the good stuff, but the good stuff is pretty damn impressiveskeptic wrote:I'm a little unsure with regards to both him and Dean... How many running backs do we need?
Roberton, Webster, Savage, Acres, Gilbert... Both of these guys too.
Hopefully White can become a genuine mid

No wonder he was stoked.

I think he means when White turned onto his left boot when his opponents went the other way.ripplug66 wrote:ziefirdbird wrote:Jaw dropping change of direction
What do you mean?
Is Brandon any relation to Spencer?
As ex-president Peter Summers said:

Re: Brandon white
Those are just highlights of course but his kicking looked damn good there - accurate and piercing. And he can take contested marks. 188 cm is a nice size in that rebounding back role as he can help out with cover defense as well. Another exciting option for our rapidly developing backline. I reckon Dempster may find himself under pressure to keep his spot this year which would be a great sign.stkfc1 wrote:Looking at his highlights package, kid can seriously kick the ball! Re: Brandon white
Dempster won't be under any pressure for a game next year
He would be in the first 10 picked every week

Re: Brandon white
So Dempster will be another year older (31 I think). He's already lost a yard or two of pace. He's helped cover that with some better intercept marking. Last season he was still a great cover defender but he provides virtually no rebound. We are rapidly moving out of needing a lot of cover defenders (Dempster, Geary etc) and wanting to build an attacking backline that is a real threat on the rebound. It will almost certainly be Dempsters last year and we could well see a transition in the latter half of the year, giving some young guys a taste of AFL perhaps at Sean's expense for a few games. I could see them doing something similar to Schneider where he sat out games but played enough to give good onfield guidance and coaching.Goose is king wrote:Dempster won't be under any pressure for a game next year

We can't keep playing all the oldies, all the time and think it's going to transition across to the young ones like flicking a switch at the end of the year. Sean has to earn his spot just like everyone. If he can't show he can do damage to the oppo out there, then he may find his spot in question.

Speaking of Spencer "Buddy" White ... so no-one picked him up? Is that right? And there's no PSD?

Re: Brandon white
Looks like that rumour about him and Collingwood held little weight - no surprises there
Re: Brandon white
Was told we were keen as on White way back at the start of June but as the draft got closer was told we thought he would be long gone by our second pick (if that wasn't Bailey) so not really on radar.
Guessing the club was, and we should be, pretty pumped when they selected him!

His old man was a good kick too - Rice, I mean. I rewatched the classic 1989 match v the Blues and Rice's field kicking and passes were exemplary.SuperDuper wrote:along with Rice, White is supposedly a good kick
great to get some god ball users in this draft!

It is said in life that you can never have too much money, or too many quick, skilful, pacy runing types, who can play back, midfield or forward.skeptic wrote:I'm a little unsure with regards to both him and Dean... How many running backs do we need?
